DVC DDP question

My question is can DVC members also get DDP when staying at a resort OOP or do you have to be staying on points? We are DVC members but are staying OOP at AKL in May. I know that CRO currently has a thing right now where AP holders can add DDP without having to buy a MYW ticket but I'm still on the fence about it and we might not opt to get the DDP until we check in.

My understanding is that DVC members must be staying on points. If you just made a reservation through CRO, then you are going by the normal rules of booking a vacation as to whether you can add the DDP or not.

You can add the dining plan if you are staying on cash through Member Services.

But Member Services can only book DVC resorts on cash. They cannot book for any other resort if you want to pay with cash.

If you book through CRO/WDWTC, you have to go by their rules to add the DDP.

If you have an AP, you can book without tickets, or at least I just read that earlier today.
