DVC/DCL points and cash?

I booked a cruise on the Dream while onboard the Wonder. Paid a cash deposit. Then we joined DVC. I am going to pay for my cruise using points - since I have extra with the new join promotion.

What happens to the cash deposit I paid DCL?

Is is converted into an OBC?

Is it refunded?

Can I use that money to pay cash for 1 or 2 of my passengers and save the points?

You should receive a refund (the original way you paid the deposit, ie cash or credit card) since it sounds like you are far enough out from sail date.

You can book the cruise on points for at least one passenger and use cash for the others. You will pay a $95 fee and the cash portions at time of booking. Also, the cash price will be a prearranged contracted price that DVC arranges with DCL each year. It will not be the cash price you have currently booked.

You may want to weigh the options before making your final decision.

I have plenty of time. Our sail date is October 2011. Plan to call DVC in the morning.

I have 3 rooms booked. Will I pay the $95 for each room or just the one time fee?
