DVC & DC discounts

With the ending of the Disney Club and those discounts, could our DVC discount at the DS be next?

I'm wondering the same thing. The CM's at the stores don't see lots of DVC and usually have to look up how to do the transaction. I won't be happy to lose the discount but I think we might should be prepared for it.

I doubt it.....they JUST posted it in VM that if you go to the store and the CM doesn't know about it to ask for a manager and if the manager doesn't know about it to call MS so they can "ensure the store is aware of this discount in the future." I didn't even know we GOT a store discount till I saw that.

I'm hoping some of the DC discounts will start being offered to DVC members.

I also doubt that the discount will go away, but I have been surprised before.

I wasn't aware we got this discount either! Do we get the same discount at the World of Disney? Is it 10%?

No, sorry. No DVC discount at World of Disney or any other DD store.

Actually what really happened is that Disney was paying attention to DVC members' suggestions (complaints) that often appear on these boards that the DVC discounts really aren't as good as even DC and something should be done about it. Disney's solution is to eliminate DC so we will now feel blessed that ours haven't been eliminated too.

Hmmmm, that's not how it worked at our house! When my youngest brother complained that "his" wasn't as "good" or as "big" as my other two brothers', Mom just took "it" away from all of them.

Considering we all bought into Disney's equivalent of a timeshare - a place to stay, then I think we do well with whatever "extras" we receive - dining & shopping discounts, pool hopping, etc. .
