DVC cruise special?

Hello

Just recieved this new letter in the mail saying there is a special for Feb on a cruise specail. Does anyone have any better information on this? We are going on the road on the 24th so we do not know if we are going to be able to call that day and just wondering what they are offering. What is the water temp like at Cataway Key in Feb also. Since we would be there for 2 days.

just cruise on over to the Disney vacation club board and u will see 5 post about this cruise ..... does not seem like the cruise for us do to the increased points it take to go on this Special cruise and the cash value of the cruise since we do not have any points is about $200.00 higher than the week brfore and the week after .... check out the other posts over there as they r trying to keep the discussion on the dvc board ...

Peter is correct.

The DVC cruise is more expensive than the 4 day cruise which precedes that cruise and the cruise which commences afterwards. I did price the two cruises on a cash bases and in a Cat 10, it was $250 more (per adult) for that cruise. The point difference ranges between 2 - 8 points per person when compared to Value rates.

One difference in the DVC cruise is that it will be making 2 stops at Castaway Cay instead of one. Some have indicated that this is why it cost more. Others feel that it is because the entire ship has been chartered by DVC and this has increased the cost. Others feel it is DVC trying to make a buck.

I have asked that we try to keep the disccusion on this board about the cruise itself and any discussion about DVC's "motives" on the DVC Board.

In the end, it is up to you if you feel the cruise is worth the extra points/cash.
