I read with interest the thread regarding the increase in point cost for the DCL. I thought many of you would be interested to know that the State of Florida Legislature is now considering revisions to its timeshare laws. One of the many provisions of the legislation is to allow for the sale of cruise ship cabins as personal property for the purpose of timeshare ownership. I am sure that this bill is being pushed by private industry so it will be interesting to see what happens. I wonder if DVC would go this route since the use of DCL by DVC members has been so popular?

For those that are interested, the link to the bill is as follows. This is Senate Bill 1208.

It would be quiet interesting to know what exactly the percentage of passengers are in fact DVC owners, and additionally what percent use either points or combo or points/cash. Any insiders have the scoop?

I know that when we rebooked on board, they asked if were were DVC members and might be switching to points. I said yes, and no - we don't own enough points to cruise and would rather pay cash. She said "most" DVC members cruise on cash - and "a lot" of their cruise guests are DVC members.
