DVC cruise perks?

Hi there. We're newbies to the DVC and are planning on cruising on the Dream in May. I was wondering if there are any perks for DVC members onboard the ship? Thanks!

You will receive a few gifts. On the Transatlantic last fall we got two nice wooden keepsake boxes and hats. There may be something else if you attend the hard-sell presentation--it didn't used to be so hard-sell--but any gifts given out there you can get by stopping by the DVC desk and asking.

The down side is that in our 14 day cruise, they left over 20 messages on our room phone trying to sell additional points.

The whole approach has changed so much in the 16 years that we've been members. I think it has to do with them hiring and rewarding very aggressive salespersons.

Our last DCL cruise was last November, and we didn't experience any hard sell. We were invited to a few member get togethers with questions, prizes and information. I have 3 DGC, and needed an extra pin, because we got 2, and that was not a problem.

We just did a 5 day and didn't get any phone calls at all. We got the boxes in our room and just asked at the table and desk for the hats and a totebag.
