Just recieved my DVC contact for review and signature and could not help but notice that it states in bold black lettering at the end (page 8) and I quote "Disney's resort at Eagle Pines is only a possible component site which may never be added to the DVC multi-site timeshare plan.Do not purchase an interest in a DVC resort in reliance upon the addition of component sites." First, what is a component site? Second can anybody expalin this to me and why would we not have rights any and all DVC sites. This is one reason why I purchased,to explore other developments as they became available.:confused:

Because Eagle Pines may never be built?? Don't plan on purchasing DVC with the intent of only staying at EP.

Disney's way of saying "Buy where you want to stay."

DVD made an announcement awhile ago that a new DVC resort would be built...Disney's resort at Eagle Pines. Due to a number of reasons it's construction has been put on hold and may never be built.

DVD is simply being up front about the future of that resort. Don't make DVC purchase now in hopes that you may one day be able to stay at Disney's resort at Eagle Pines.

It could also be interpreted to mean, that even if built, it is only a possible component or that may not possibly become part of the initial dvc group of resorts and you will not be able to use your points for this property.

Just a thought.
possible component

When I bought at BWV in 1999, there was a similiar disclosure about Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

The previous posters are right. You will have access to all of the DVC sites. Eagle Pines was announced in October 2001, but it is currently on the back burner. They are just being up-front telling you don't count on this one being constructed. It may never be built. Since Eagle Pines was put on the back burner, DVC has announced the new Saratoga Springs resort. In fact, Saratoga is already under construction on the site of the defunct Disney Institute, with the first villas opening in 2004. I had the Eagle Pines disclaimer in my contract in March 2002. Anyway, you can go to the sites they build just like everyone else. Congrats on your purchase! :smooth:

Thanks to all who replied. I spoke to someone at quality assurance (as requested in my packet) and she informed me as most of you folks have stated that it is in the contract just to cover themselves in the event Eagle Pines does not get built.They have to state this because of the official announcement that was made over a year ago.

Thanks again for the input::D

Just to emphasize, even if it's built, there is no guarantee it would be included in DVC.
