When the inevitable happens and Disney is finally sold....All i want to know is that my contract or current system of points will not change...I read these boards quite a bit and i would love somo of you who seem to have a grasp on the business end of things to try and make me understand any effects we could potentially see to our DVC contracts and/or point structures.

That being said I believe all this chicken little talk about Disney selling is crazy....the value of disney is the name. Even if they (comcast.universal etc...) wanted to sell off the parks, who would be stupid enough to buy them without all the characters and disney affiliation....it is virtually worthless without them!!...The only thing I worry about is the DVC part of it...will it cost me more for less?

WE all signed a contract with DVD/DVC, and they would have to nullify that if they change anything, so I doubt we have much to worry about in that regard.

I don't think our contracts are what could be at issue. More important is what any buyer would do with the parks. If they ran them as typical theme parks, then much of our enjoyment of all things special about Disney could diminish.

Why would they take over Disney and make it something other than Disney? That would certainly be a poor business decision! Anyone who buys Disney is doing so because of the name. It is kind of like when the company my DH works for was taken over. They didn't even change the name, because Honeywell had such a recognizeable name. It is the same and more so with Disney. No company would over take it to make it "comcast" world! It is worth nothing if it isn't "Disney" world.
