DVC Contemporary???

15 stories -----i hope not

I don't think Disney is that stupid to block the view from the towers with a 15 story building.

If it's true I be more inclined to say maybe 5/6 floors. I would be really POed if I had a 15 story view out my window. I know it wouldn't be close but it would detract form the overall view.

So please Disney rethink this if it's true which I think it's not. :stir:

Maybe I'm the only one, but I like the idea of the 15 stories. But hey, where I live, there are no high rises, so it's a different thing to me. I can't tell from the proposed plans, but IF the VCR is 15 stories, what would it be blocking from the main tower? Which way is the MK, on which side? I think it would be awsome to see wishes from your VCR balcony!!

The last few times on the monorail and the bus, I would take note of the walking distance from the North Wing to the tower. I'm really hoping the rumor comes true just because I can't wait until some other resort has Looooooonnnnnnng hallway complaints to take the pressure off of the BWV. :yay: :yay: :yay:

As for me, I'm holding out for the VAKL. I'll take the ambiance of that lovely resort over the Contemporary any day of the week!

Would the announcement of Contemporary being built, put a strain on selling the rest of SSR? Or will the completion date of the Contemporary be far enough out that SSR will still sell out with no problem? It seems like a lot of new people might hold out purchasing SSR if they had the opportunity to buy CRV, therefore negatively affecting the sales at SSR.

In another thread there was a graph that detailed SSR sales & if that graph was correct, than SSR should sell out early in 2007.......That said, I think that the CR points would cost quite a bit more than what SSR is selling at.

Those people who really want to buy at the CR will gladly pay the premium (if there is one), but there will still be many people who want to get into DVC as inexpensively as possible who will go the SSR route & attempt to book the other resorts at 7 months.

JMHO :sunny:

Any predictions on the cost per point? From previous experience, when the new DVC were announced, what were the variances in cost? I know with CRV it would likely be more because of the prime location.

We really love AKL, too. I just can't figure out how they'd ever add a DVC location there without disturbing all the animals already there. Unless they added a whole new savannah for the DVC, but even then, the noise of construction would likely disturb the animals already there.

In pasts years the price per point stayed the same for a few months after sales started, then increased. Usually they increased for new members but stayed the same for add ons for a short while. Some of the time they also had specials which effectively reduced the cost pp. I know SSR did and I'm thinking BCV did as well. But I doubt they'd have to do so for VCR and it ultimately is about he money, isn't it?

When they announce the new DVC, will it just be location? How long til they come up with cost per point, size, availability? When they start selling, how long will it be before you can occupy it?

All the announcements where I remember any specifics have included conceptual drawings and some descriptions. And that includes two that have not been built as well as 3 Disney hotels that were never built.
