DVC Confirmation # - How long does it take after making reservations?

So we added a night to our reservation (renting points) and got a new reservation # immediately from the member, but we'll have to wait 7-10 days for the confirmation letter. I tried inputting the new confirmation # into the online dining reservation system and it doesn't recognize it. How long does it normally take?

For our original reservation, we received the confirmation # only when we got the email w/ the letter in it, so maybe a week after making the reservation, and it worked immediately.

I totally trust the person we rented from, so that's not at all why I am asking, I am just asking bc we can make ADRs in a week and I want to be certain that the confirmation # will be working by then!! :goodvibes
 
Normally I don't think you would get a new # for adding days to an existing DVC reservation. Have you tried putting in the previous # you have and seeing if all the days are listed - including the new ones?

(And I guess I'm not referring to the dining system, but to the link where you can see your reservation on the Disney site - something like mydisneyreservation/dvc but I don't know the whole address.
 
I agree with vicki c. MS most likely linked the reservations right away (as they should) and the original reservation should now show all of your nights.

Go to: www.MyDisneyReservation.com/DVC and see if that is the case. If so,then the original reservation should work just fine when it comes time to make your ADRs.
 

Still not working - I tried the new confirmation # and then the old one and they don't bring up the 1st night. It's a split stay FYI - 1 night at AKV and 9 at BCV so that's why I don't know if they would really give the same conf #...

OK. Missed the part about the split stay. Those reservations cannot be linked by MS, but if you have the correct reservation number, it should still show up using the link I referenced above. If it doesn't, something is wrong.

Perhaps MS typed your name in wrong (spelling matters) or more likely, you somehow have an incorrect confirmation number. Ask the owner to verify the reservation number for you - maybe something got "garbled" when you talked or emailed.

If you do have what he/she gave you, then ask him or her to verify the reservation exists on the members' website. If the reservation doesn't show on the members' website, it won't show on the link I provided or the dining site and chances are the owner and MS didn't communicate the number correctly.

Let us know when you finally figure out what's wrong, OK?

P.S. Since the one night addition is at the beginning of the stay, there's no real harm done for ADRs. You can still make those 180 days out. Then you have to call or go online the next day to make the rest of the ADRs using the 180 days + rest of your stay method. Other than the inconvenience, I don't think that will hurt your chances much if at all of getting what you prefer.
 
Thanks for all your help - it is working now. I guess that link for mydisneyreservation.com/dvc still isn't directly linked to DVC and thus still take a couple days to load. But, the separate reservation is showing up there and in the ADR system. Took 3 business days, so not awful! :goodvibes
 
FYI; I always use My phone number to make my ADR's. Works everytime. I have never used a confirmation number.

But if you want to use 180+10 you HAVE to have a resort reservation connected. If not, you can only book one day at a time at 180 days.
 
Interesting, I must have been right under the 180 days then, because I have sure booked my whole trip at one time online with my phone number. I know that when I called I had to have the confirmation number to book 180 +10.
