Does anyone have the phone number to confirm a DVC ressie available?
I am renting points and need to call to check my confirmation number.

Thanks,

You can call the resort itself directly. Be sure to tell them it is a DVC reservation or they will not be able to find it.

You'll need to contact the owner for the number to Member Services if you prefer to confirm that way. The DIS will not permit anyone to post the 800 number (or send it to you via PM) for Member Services.

Best wishes -

Why is that? I didn't ask for the 800 number however...I'll take any number I can get.

Thanks,

In the past there was heated and quite nasty debate about posting the DVC member services 800 number because the cost of those calls is added to member dues. At that time the number was added to the DIS word filter, and is not allowed to be posted. We can, as Debbie B did, post the local 407 number.

When we rented we never had any problems. Paid our renter in full. he sent us our ressis. Never had the need to call anyone.

I call to confirm ALL of my reservations for any hotel whenever I travel. Just something I do to make sure there aren't any mistakes.

You still have to trust your Member your renting from as they have control of it until you check in. So checking on it is a false sense of security at best. I am sure you will be fine but verifying it does not really secure it.

I agree it is probably pointless in the long run to confirm the ressie with MS, as the owner can cancel at anytime if they are dishonest...but I also understand that the call would help put a renters mind at ease. A quick confirmation call really doesn't hurt anything, and if the person you are renting from supplies you with the 800 numbe, that is OK, too. It is simply DIS policy not to make it available here.

I have rented points 4 times now without any issues. However I check ressies even for hotel stays I make just to make sure the dates are correct, information is correct etc. Has nothing to do with not trusting the member.

I think the real question here is why you didn't contact your Owner directly and ask them for the contact number, they should have supplied it as part of the rental transaction.

I don't think anyone would find fault with you confirming the accuracy of your ressie, I check each of my confirmation letters for just that reason!

Have a nice vacation!

I do agree with checking for accuracy. I recently discovered (by looking at my confimation sheets) that my three Dec. ressies were not linked. I made a quick call to MS, and got it corrected in just minutes. If you do find things are not in order, you will have to have the member you rented from make the changes, as you will not be able to do that yourself.

Not when your inquiry might cost them a dues increase of $.00000001.

wow, who knew this topic was on the level of mugs, pool hopping and parade waiting. Just to clear it up, I didn't ask for the 800 number. I just wanted a phone number. I have free long distance on my cell so any number was fine. I called and all is well if anyone wanted to know. Thanks for all the help, I'll write down the number for furture use...promise :teeth:

The MAIN reason the 800 number isn't allowed to be posted here, is not to keep renters from checking their reservations, but to keep the general public from using it to call WDW for other questions.

WDW itself does not have a general 800 number. For hotel reservations, dining arrangements, etc., others may use the 800 number, thinking it's a toll free number for WDW, not realizing it's a special number strictly for DVC member services.

One renter checking their reservation is no big deal, but if thousands of the general public try using the number, thinking it's a toll free way to call WDW, it would be a problem. Yes, they would get the recording, but the cost of the call to DVC members still occurs.

Ahh...but a quick search of these boards will show a Disney 800 number. I use it all the time.

There is a toll free number to WDW available to all. The DVC is for members. The first question they ask is for your membership number.

Yes I know, I was reffering to the Disney number not DVC in reference to the post "WDW itself does not have a general 800 number"

I was able to call DVC, they did ask for my member number but a quick I told them I was a guest and they were VERY VERY helpful.
