Hello everyone!

I have been enjoying this site all summer and I believe this is my first new thread so please excuse any faux paus I may make!

What inspired me to post today was something that came in our mail this morning, a postcard from DVC offering me, "a complimentary Disney Vacation when you purchase a real estate interest in Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort..." We are considering becoming DVC members but were going to go the resale route (love the location of BC & BW)...my DH says there must be a "catch!" Has anyone taken advantage of this offer (or a similar offer?)

Thanks for all the great advice!

:earsboy:

your "free" vacation is if you choose to pay full price for SSR at $95 per pt .... then you get "developers pts = to what you bought
(ie if you buy a 200 pt contract you get 200 developer pts)

or you could buy SSR at $85 per pt and get no pts until your use-year 2005 (i think apr or may 2005)

developers pts have a bunch of restrictions ... cant be banked, must be used at DVC property only, and probably a few others that i cant think of

Just wanted to welcome you to these boards. Glad to have you with us! :sunny:

What this means is if you found a resale contract with current points, those current points would be your free vacation, but without the limitations. Plus you only have to pay $75-$80 a point(approx.)

Hmmmmm....... Interesting.....

When we first looked into DVC, we asked about "complementary" trips to check the place out. Many other time share communities do the same. But our guide told us Disney did not ever do this. So this is.... interesting to say the least.

Welcome to the DIS!

I wouldn't say this is complimentary. All they are doing is giving you 2004 points instead of a $10 discount. Now if they offered both.......
