Time was, it was a status symbol to have a custom made PC. Special case, fans, lights, liquid cooling, CPU(s), GPU(s), SSD drives, HDDs, ports, bluetooth, what have you - and the more you spent and the more bling it looks, the more ace you were. You could switch between PS4 and Dreamcast games all on your PC at 4K with a bluetooth controller… and then there was the issue of what OS to use! Windows for gaming, Linux for smug people who could code (I liked both for varying reasons).
It's been a long time since I had a custom build but loved mine - i9 processor, beefy GPU, three SSD drives, a mouse with more buttons then US States...
Maybe I'll invest in the future again?
