just curious, is it next to impossible or will the DVC resorts let you get into your room at least a little bit before 4pm? how much earlier?

im curious about other peoples experiences since ive never arrived before 4pm in the past

Just like any other hotel
We have checked in and had room ready as early as Noon.
Depends on if room was occupied the night before.
What time the previous guests left room.
WHat condition the room was left in are all factors that affect availability.

Ditto on what other have said, I have been in at noon 4 times and this trip we are on now I had to wait until 130!!! We take the early flight and usually get to DVC by noonish.

I'm not sure what you mean by "enforcement." If your room is ready, they give it to you whenever you check in.

We just drive up from Miami and we leave early, so we typically arrive at WDW at 10:30 - 11:00 AM. I'd say we're about 50-50 on getting into our room as soon as we arrive, but we've had a couple of visits when we didn't get into the room until 5:30-6:00 PM.

We always go to check-in first but are fully aware that we will most likely not get into our villa before 4pm. In most cases we've had to call back to see if its become available and sometimes that's worked out for early afternoon, other times not. We go to parks or pool while waiting.

:)

Same with us - we have a 2 hour drive and always get there by noonish. The latest we have ever had to wait was 3, but we NEVER put in any requests - so I think that might help!!

We've gotten rooms before 4PM, but we've also waited until nearly 6PM. Check in is after 4PM.

We have gotten in as early as 8am, after driving straight thru, and a room was ready (no doubt empty from the previous night). We generally get in our room by 2:30, though we have occasionally had to wait until "after 4." It just depends upon who many rooms are vacated, and what their stafffing may be that day.

I've gotten in at 10:00 am, 11:00 am; never had to wait past 3:00.

I have gotten my villa once at 1030, the other day at noon and today I moved from SSR to AKV and I had to wait until 3:!5. It all depends on how busy the resort is and the size villa you are staying in.

I would say that a majority of the time it's around 3:00 when our room is ready, but it has been 4:00 and later many times. The latest was 6:30.

We always take an early flight - usually 7:30 or 8:30 am. We are always at the resort before noon and have always gotten into our room right away. We have made 4 DVC trips.

I have to say that some of you are a lot luckier than DH and I. We've NEVER gotten into our room before 4PM. :confused3

It depends. My room was ready as early as 8:00 am and as late as 8:00 pm. I don't expect my room before 4:00 pm.

On our very first visit as DVC members, we were able to check into our room at BWV at 7:30 AM!!! It was like having a whole extra day there! :woohoo:

The next visit was the complete opposite. We waited and waited, and didn't get into our room until 5:00! :scared: Because my in-laws were with us, we couldn't just take off and go somewhere (MIL has hard time getting around).

With two very different experiences, we don't even play the game. When we get there, we check in. If the room isn't ready, we drop our stuff off, tell them our groceries will be there sometime after 3:00, and head over to a water park! We spend the day there, hit an early dinner at the Pepper Market, and by the time we get back, everything's waiting on us! We're full, we're exhausted, and ready to wind down for the evening. It's perfect, and has now become a "first day down there" tradition! :thumbsup2

We always take an early flight. About half the time the room is ready. When it isn't, we head to Magic Kingdom and call from there. They always tell me the general area that we will be in and give us our room keys. We just don't get the room number until later.

I think the earlier you arrive, the better. We've had multiple check-ins in the 8-9am neighborhood on a Sunday and have received a room immediately. Those are almost certainly rooms that were not occupied the night before.

But the later you get in the day, I suspect the volume of arriving guests increases. Once those empty rooms from the night before are gone, it's a question of how quickly departing guests vacate their rooms and how quickly housekeeping completes its work.

We've gotten in as early as 7 AM and had a bunch of 11 - noon checkins where we got right into our unit. Then again, once and a while we've had to wait till 5 PM.

We usually arrive around noon. About half the time the villa is ready and we stop by to drop off our carryon luggage. The rest of the time, we head for bell services and leave our bags and head out for a park. We usually don't get back until fairly late at night so I have no idea what time the room was actually ready since we never bother to call. We just ask at the front desk when we return to the resort.
