DVC checkin is 4pm - plane arrives 10am - can we checkin?

When we were at the Wilderness Lodge in Oct even though checkin wasnt until 2/3pm we were able to checkin early and use the resorts pool, etc.
The VWL checkin isnt until 4pm - can we use the pool before that?

I have always checked in upon arrival; sometimes the room's ready and you can leave your bags in it. I think the 4pm checkin time is to allow housekeeping time to prepare the room of departing guests.

Go ahead and check in when you arrive. You'll get your room key, and if your room is ready, you'll be able to go to it. Otherwise you'll need to call back later to check on the room.

Yes, you'll be able to use the resort facilities. We usually pack a small bag that contains swim suits, then we can either leave the rest of the luggage with bell services, or in our car (if we have one, and we usually do).

The Health Club (free to DVC members) is very close to the pool and I believe I read that you can use their facilities for changing. There's also a HUGE private restroom by the back door that goes out to the pool that you could use. It would accomodate many children at the same time.

We have also had luck when arriving early asking if any room that meets our basic needs is available. You may be "assigned" to be someplace else, but a room of the same size/features in a different building may be available sooner.
