I've seen this mentioned before, where members have converted their DVC Cash Discount to a better AP Discount. In case AP discounts come out soon, how would I do this? Would I call CRO, make the AP reservation and then call DVC? Should I make the deposit on the AP reservation or just have them hold it? I currently have a DVC rate for OKW 1 bedroom May 9 & 10 (Fri & Sat), 25% off, which required no deposit. The Code rates being offered now are only $4 less per night, so I didn't switch. Thanks for any advice!

Haven't done this before with a DVC discount, but I would think a reservation is a reservation is a reservation no matter who/what department books it. Once your ressie is in the computer any dept. can access it. I would just call cro, when you secure a better rate, then tell them your ressies # and ask them to convert it. Have done this with other ressies, ie DC then AP or post card codes and never a problem. Good luck, I'm waiting for AP's too.

I think this is a different case because the original reservation was made with DVC Member Services and my member discounted room came from DVC points inventory. I don't think CRO could access that reservation. I just don't want to worry about having to possibly change rooms by getting a separate AP rate for the first 2 nights through CRO and trying to link the reservations. I guess if the rates come out I'll reserve it and then talk to member services.

We have to add a night onto our May vacation. We currently have a 2 bedroom at BCV on hold for $675 (including taxes) that we used a code to get. We are hoping that DVC has a room available (will find out Mon.) or for an AP rate. My question is will we have to change rooms on our last night just because it is not a DVC reservation?

So, are you saying that we can make a ressie through the DVC (MS) with either the DVC discount of 25% , and/or with an AP discount, if they are available?? And then not have to put a deposit down on top??? WOW! That would be great!

Karebear, the scenario you described can't be done. Bookings made through MS use a different system than bookings made through CRO (the division that you can make AP bookings through.)

Shellygirls, when you split your stay into two or more reservations, even if it's at the same resort, Disney always adds the disclaimer that you may have to change rooms. I've never heard of it happening, but Disney covers their bases by making sure that it's noted.

If the price is right, I would definitely do it. Just be sure to let DVC/CRO know that you want to have both reservations linked.
