DVC cancelled my reservation!!

We had rented points to someone for a stay beginning this Sat. 12/11 for two nights at the BLT in a MK view studio. She contacted me today to tell me that she was trying to do online check in and it was telling her that the reservation had been cancelled. When I called Member Services they said it did show it as being cancelled but not when or by whom. :confused3After being on hold for 25 min. they came back on to tell me when they had the recent conversion/upgrade to the system that several reservations had been inadvertantly cancelled but then immediately rebooked. Ours was not!!! :scared1:They had to call BLT directly to secure a "cash" room since the DVC rooms were sold out. So, in the end there is a reservation there, but it could have been a catastrophe!
 
Oh my goodness! I'm glad everything ended up panning out, that could have been a disaster!
 
Thank goodness your renter decided to do online check in - can you imagine the nightmare if she had shown up to be told there was no reservation?
 
I am so sorry that happened! What a headache it was... but it could have been a bigger one if it hadn't been caught now!

This is one reason I have been pulling up my room reservation every so often on the Disney site. I don't 100% trust their IT people and I want to be sure everything is still there.
 

I'm holding 6 DVC reservations and during the last conversion they changed ALL of my confirmation numbers to new numbers. I only found out when making my ADRs for May. I do check my DVC account regularly online and all is well, but I did print out my new reservation numbers.
 
EEK. I hope that's not a problem at all DVC resorts. We reserved a week at SSR for my DSIL and her husband, arriving next week. I've tried checking 'my vacations' on the DVC website and I get the message that the area I'm trying to view is not available at this time.
 
Same exact thing happened with us except we check-in 12/10. Grrrr!

I agree! She would have been freaking out thinking she'd been scammed. :scared1:
 
Adding on to an older post, but just wanted to see if anyone had any info on anything like this going on currently - I am the renter, and I have already paid in full for my reservation (via paypal). I was fwd'd the confirmation email from the owner from DVC so I thought I was all set. I plugged in the confirmation # when I first got it to make sure it was working and I could see everything confirmed, but now tonight I am getting the following error messages:
"Unfortunately, the reservation you are looking for is no longer in our system."
and
"Sorry, this reservation has been canceled. Please contact your original booking agent."
What is going on?
I have contacted the owner but have not heard anything back yet and I am starting to freak out a bit!
My only thought is that we were moved over to our top choice from a waitlist and we;ll be getting a new conf. #, but I feel like that's grasping at straws.
Any info you all have would be greatly appreciated!

If you switched resorts or room types, you probably do have a new confirmation #. DVC was trying a system where the confirmation # stayed the same if your reservation was at multiple resorts but it didn't work out and that's why they were doing rebooking.
 
Hi, Yes, so we are (well, were, it's not working now) confirmed for BWV, and we asked to be put on a waitlist BCV. Hoping that's what's going on, still havn't heard back from the owner.
 
Just heard back and it was a waitlist going through! Yay! Moved over to our preferred resort AND not canceled.

I'm glad for you ALR. I know how scary it is! Less than a week before our vacation last September, DVC decided to get rid of the *one* reservation number that we had for our 3-part stay, and give each part a brand new number. Without having the courtesy of sending us an email. While the end result was good, very good in fact, an email would have been the *least* they could have done to let me know what they were doing.
