Sorry if this has already been mentioned elsewhere...

The Check In Desk for Beach Club DVC has been moved into the DVC building, in the foyer area and at the counter that used to be DVC sales.

As you approach Beach Club from the arrival area out front, there is a sign stating that BCV guest may proceed to the DVC Check In Desk.

I was sent there at first and halfway there told that was only for check-in earlier in the day, so then I had to go back up to the front desk.:confused3

We usually get to BCV in the afternoon. However, Thursday, at about 6:00, there were two CM's at the desk. They had not been there late in the day on previous trips. From what I saw while at the Beach Club, it was not a busy period.

So what did you Beach Club owners do, anyway? Why are you being removed from the lobby? Was it a DIS mini-meet or something?
Let us know so that us Boardwalkers can do it too....
(Note to other DVCers..., I have heard that the BCV owners were a shameful group who you could recognize by the sand in their shorts.... )
Sorry, just kidding... jealous, actually. Wish we had our own desk.... they get the good pool AND the seperate check-in. Hey, congratulations. :duck:

It was posted on another thread that the reason for the move was due to complaints from paying guests. DVC members were making check in too crowded. :woohoo:

Dang... So that's the secret.. Apparently, members are NOT making it crowded enough at BWV and VWL... :goodvibes

I've posted this on other threads, but maybe it's due to the fact that there seems to be a real problem at BCV with valet parking and the like where members keep getting charged for a service that is supposed to be free.. By seperating the desks, maybe they can keep a better handle on it.. Not sure..

Okay all you Boardwalk owners, let's storm the lobby and get it nice and crowded! :dance3:
Those Beach Clubbers have all the luck.

Wow, I didn't realize DVC Members weren't "paying guests". Try to tell DH that one, LOL:rotfl2:
note to disneynutz: not picking on you, I realize that was someone else's thought, just found it amusing;)

Yes, I just got back last night, and I'll post my picture of the BCV check-in. They told me it's manned ("personned") from 8:00-6:00. Outside those hours, BCV guests check in at the BC desk, like it used to be.

That's real nice, I guess for crowd's sake. But I hope we can still go to the front desk - it's not a stay at the BCV unless I can walk in and see the BC lobby first! And I'll be darned if I'm going to go wait in a Villas check in line in December if it's a super long line b/c it's a busy time for DVCers but not for regular rooms on property. Which means the BC desk should be quieter than the DVC desk!!

Along with other recent announcements, DVC members are not allowed in the BC lobby. We are to use the back door only.

;)

Oh I forgot to mention. We will be getting a full size, cardboard cut out of Art The Greeter for the back door.:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: You know, in all honesty, that's kind of the way I felt. I was wondering, "Gee, have DVC members got such a bad reputation that no one wants to see us around any more?"

It's not all DVC members. Just the ones from Texas. :hippie:

:lmao:

And right behind the quiet pool will be a cardboard cut out of SAB, too, right? (Of course they'll be nice enough to laminate it so our splashing and the rain won't ruin it.)

When I saw the new check-in desk at BCV-DVC, my first thought was... "DVC? Oh, we already have your money! Please step outside and don't bother us..."

Maybe I shouldn't be thinking that way, although there were two CM's there was only ONE computer and ONE printer!

But to be optimistic, maybe they'll put in a Fast Pass machine!

I hope they don't tell Art the Greeter not to talk to the DVC people...

I couldn't agree more! I'm beginning to feel like that more and more. Last time I was at a DVC resort, the balcony was so covered with cobwebs that no one could sit out there. I called the front desk and asked if they could send someone up to hose it down. They said "Everyone's pretty busy, but we'll get to it." You can bet if I was paying $400 a night next door they would have come running.

Well that's retarded. What does the other person do without a computer and printer? :sad2: It's not like there's that many villas that they need a separate desk. Are we just too demanding about rooms and locations, unlike the BC paying guests who take what they give them b/c they don't know any better?

Maybe soon they'll issue us big, bright red "D"s to wear on our backs, so when we walk through the resort (assuming they'll let us go through to get to Cape May...) everyone will be able to recognize us and stay away.

Maybe this separate desk shouldn't bother me so much, but it does. I'm not feeling the  !!!

OK, so if I dare cross the BC entrance, will they let me check in at the BC desk, or will they send me over to the Villas? Cause I'm going straight into the lobby and standing in line. Or will there be a trap door in the floor?
