I'm not sure how banking works. We have 450 points with a December UY. So if my 25% banking deadline is September 30 I can bank 25% of 450 or 112 points? We have a trip planned that may need to be changed and we're not usually banking :rotfl:

Thanks!

If you have not yet banked any of your points, then now at the 25% window, you may bank up to 112 points (25% is 112.5 points, but DVC rounds down).

If you already have banked any points, you may only bank additional points up to 112 total. Say you've already banked 100 points, then you could only bank 12 more points.

If you have previously banked 150 points, for example at the 100% window, then you couldn't bank any more at this time, at the 25% window.

The banking amounts are cumulative.

Actually, since member services isn't open on weekends, you'll need to bank your points by September 29th this year. You'll need to act fast, because the banking deadline isn't the only one to worry about.

Have you already made the reservation you're thinking about cancelling? Is the check in date less than 30 days from now? If so, you need to review the whole deal with holding accounts. If you cancel a reservation less than 30 days before check in, your points go into a holding account and can't be banked. You can use holding account points to rebook another vacation in the current use year, but only if the reservation is made at least 60 days before the end of that use year. That means any holding account reservation for a December use year would need to be booked in the next few weeks.

Ahhhh. Thanks for clarifying the rules for me. I have already banked out 116 points at the 100% window. Guess I'm out of luck on this one. Hopefully we'll be able to keep our plans as is.

Thanks again!

If not, there's always the possibility of renting the reservation.
