Hi everyone,

I was just on the website and LOVE the new availability tool. It's nice to be able to see what's booked (or not) at other resorts before the 7 month window. I'm not sure how long it's been there, but I like it!

I think it has a long ways to go. It shows "limited availability" for a particular time frame, which may mean only 1 day out of the week you are looking for is available. I guess there is a different perception of "availability."

Bummer. I didn't think of it that way. In my mind "Limited Availability" meant very few rooms remaining for that timeframe. :confused3 I might have to play around with it and see. Thanks for the perspective though.

I think you have overlooked a key feature of the Resort Availability Tool. When the Tool shows "Limited Availability", you can click on the Accommodation Type (Deluxe Studio, etc.) and the Tool will display a calendar that shows the specific days available or unavailable. The calendar will show availability for the entire month, the preceding month, and the succeeding month, not just the particular timeframe you were checking.

Give it another try and you might find the Resort Availability Tool is quite useful.

Cool - I guess I didn't even get that far. Now I really like it again. I get that it can change in a flash when others' book, but I think it's helpful.... Time to consider options for the next trip... ;)

Well, I'll give it a "better than nothing" rating. But, boy does it suck. How can such a creative company have such consistently horrible websites and web tools?

Why such negativity? This is a huge improvement over what we had previously. I think its a great step in the right direction.

As long as you know what each description means it works. Available means all days are available. Limited availability means at least 1 day is available but also at least 1 day (or more) is not available. No availability means all days are not available. Its not hard.

Being able to see the whole month at a glance is awesome. Being able to check all resorts at once is awesome.

Before if I wanted to search for any available studio at any property on this weekend it would take forever. Now, it's one search. If I wanted to see if I could get a studio OR 1 bedroom at any property on specific dates it would take even longer. Now, just one search.

How does it "suck"? It shows you ALL room availability for the next 11 months at all resorts. I don't understand your complaint.

It's certainly better than what we had but given that you have to drill down manually to get the info and can't reserve directly from there, I find it's usefulness limited.

Used it today to research availability for a week's stay around Christmas (thought for sure nothing would be there) and found a studio for a full 7 nights at SSR from 12/19 - 12/26! BOOKED! :cool1: Works very similarly to the online booking tool, in that it gives you a visual of the nights that are available at your preferred resort (and a few nearby) for your desired time frame. With the availability tool you can select as many resorts and accommodation sizes as you need and it will search all choices for you simultaneously. The drawback is that you still have to open each link to find out what days are available but at least you don't have to go back each time to change resorts and room sizes. It also gives you a look at the surrounding dates for availability, a benefit to those whose dates aren't set in stone. If the two tools could be combined, now that would be magical! ::yes::
