DVC AP renewal and FP+ reservations

I have an AP that expires before we go back to Disney. I usually renew online and they send me a voucher that I redeem with my DVC card once at Disney. If they still do it that way, does the voucher have a ticket number now so I can make my FP+ reservations?

If this has been discussed, please direct me to that thread. Thanks!

Yes. The voucher has a number that can be linked to MDE for FP+.

For me as an iPhone user, the super easy way to do this was just to use the barcode scanner intrinsic to the MDE app on the voucher. This worked seamlessly.

If your voucher is only electronic, you would have to input the full number, preferably with cut and paste, as those are really long character strings.

Now this doesn't count as "activating" the voucher yet does it? Would hate to waste that time on the AP!

A renewal automatically begins when the old AP expires so there is no issue of when it activates. For a new AP, there is no activation until you get the actual AP at WDW. In both cases, though you can put the receipt (voucher) number in MDE to make FP+, you still need to get the actual AP card at the parks guest services and have its number attached to your MDE account before you can use the magic band for park entry

So it sounds like there's no advantage to "renewing" with the special offer price since it is the same price to get the DVC special offer Preminum Pass as a renewal or as a new annual pass.

So I can just purchase the new special offer passes online, use the number from that receipt to put into my MDE account and use the new pass when I go to set my FP+ at 60 days. Will I have any trouble with it trying to "renew" to my old pass if I don't want it to? My previous pass expires this month and I really don't want to renew if I can just use the new pass fresh when we go next and have a full year to use it. Do I need to disconnect my old pass from my MDE account before adding or buying the new one? I just don't want to miss being able to use FP+ and getting a full year since we have several months before our next trip.

Thanks!
