We currently have vouchers, we want to redeem them for a Gold pass as that is the one that we plan on using and redeeming in the future. How will this be handled at Guest Relations? What passes will we be issued?

On the day you want to start the clock on your pass, go to guest relations. They will validate your voucher and give you a credit card-sized plastic card that says "Passholder". You will only need this to get pass holder discounts at restaurants and stores. To get into the parks, your Magic Bands are loaded with your AP.

You will need to bring identification for everyone in your party who is getting the AP. If I recall correctly, you need your DVC Member Card and a Drivers License or Passport, but check your materials to be sure.

Which "level" of annual pass will we get? We bought the voucher before everything was changed! Thank you for the great information!

I bought mine a year before my December 2015 trip. I got a Platinum Pass (no blackout dates).

No, why would I? I got the platinum pass for the same price as the old ticket, there was no additional charge.

We are not planning any trips on the blackout dates, and would rather renew at the Gold price in the future.

As I understand it, you can use the pass you bought under the terms when you bought it. Or you can change to a new pass by paying the difference in cost. If there is a reduction in cost, you may get a refund, but I am not certain. Best to ask the Disney folks.

Since the pass would have been purchased at a price that is less than any pass currently offered to DVC, unless it was the Premier which included the water parks, there wouldn't be any difference to refund.

For sure you get mapped to the Platinum Pass if you purchased the voucher prior to the AP changes. It has been confirmed anecdotally by myself, many other people on the board, and a ticketing CM on another thread- I am very confident in this :)!

As that pass is no longer even in their system, they can't issue anyone the "old" pass. It gets converted to the current product that carries the same features (no blackouts, etc.), which is Platinum. The only charge to upgrade would be to the one that includes the water parks.

I definitely got the platinum, including the photopass downloads. I can't remember what I paid for the voucher in 2014 but it was far less than the new gold pass because there was another price increase early last year. I went to Disneyland in August last year, so I didn't have a 2015 WDW trip until December. I bought it at the end of 2014 because there were rumors that the DVC discount was going away at the end of the year (not true). I figured I'd have it and not have to worry about it.

As Kathy said, you can downgrade at renewal to gold. I never renew because of the spacing of my trips, I just buy a new one. This one will expire in December, most likely I'll be doing Disneyland before WDW next year.

I renewed mine two weeks before the increase. When we went in November we got the platinum - no questions asked. I also two ap vouchers that I bought over a year ago. I am saving them to use in the future in 2 or 3 years when that platinum might actually be more valuable to me because of the timing of trips.
