Does anyone know if you can use your volunteer voucher towards the discounted rate of a DVC annual Pass?
Yes, you may. Bring the GAD voucher, your blue DVC membership card and photo ID to any Guest Relations booth to complete the upgrade. You will pay the price of a DVC Annual Pass (or DVC PAP if you want that one) less $79 (value of the GAD ticket).
However....these two statements contradict each other. I 'thought' that we could get our DVC APs, with the GAD cert in hand..that we didn't have to enter the park first. IF we are buyng that AP, with the DVC 'discount', then we are going to then have to go back to Guest services, and get a refund?? Seems like a lot more work.I fixed the link - sorry. The most important thing is that you need to USE the ticket before upgrading it.

My understanding was that we could do what Carol said...take our DVC card, GAD cert and then pay the discounted (yeah, I know..not a discount) price as well as get the $79 taken off at the same time.
Which is correct??
I used the GAD voucher to upgrade to a DVC AP at Epcot's International Gateway last month. I did not have to enter the park first. It brought the cost of the AP down to $330.15.
After you get the DVC discounted price and the $79 off, I guess they charge sales tax?
Is that how they come up with $330.15? DVC AP 389- 79GAD=310

I'm just going by what a friend who did it told me AND what Cheshire Figment says in his ticket thread, which I linked to:
If you want to upgrade the Free ticket it may only be done after you have entered a Park so it has been used on the day of issue. The upgraded pass may only be used by the person to whom the original pass was issued. If you do not use the ticket on the date of issue it is no longer valid and cannot be used for entry and cannot be upgraded.
I haven't done this myself, but I have every reason to believe that Cheshire Figment's explanation is correct.
