Not sure if this was posted elseswhere, but there was a status update on the DVc Facebook page today saying:

Disney Vacation Club is making an exciting addition to its Concierge Collection of resorts. Be sure to check our Facebook page on Friday for the details!

Hmmmm.....wonder what that is??????

It's the Manhattan Club.

From the Members' Website:

A New Addition to the Concierge Collection

The Manhattan Club has joined the Concierge Collection! Located in midtown Manhattan, this premier resort property is dedicating select one-bedroom suites for Disney Vacation Club Members to enjoy on a nightly basis.

Please visit The Manhattan Club website to learn more about this hotel and review the Concierge Collection points charts before calling Member Services to book your stay. A $95 transaction fee applies.

Prefer to stay in a different room type? Other options at The Manhattan Club remain available through the World Passport Collection. For reservations, use the RCI online booking tool on the Disney Vacation Club Member website, or call Member Services at (800) ******** or (407) 566-3800†.

†If you are under 18 years of age, you must have your parent's or guardian's permission to dial these numbers.

To the thebigman65 - I edited your post to add the info since you were the first to tell us about the addition. :) Hope you don't mind. I wanted to avoid multiple threads with the same info. :)

Kind of a letdown considering we could already stay there through RCI. Is there a difference between the RCI booking and the Concierge Collection booking? Just wondering. :confused3

RCI is only available if there is a trade out (for you to exchange in)

I'm guessing the Concierge Collection is more like getting access to the more available cash inventory. (Kinda like when you call Disney CRO and can pay cash for a BWV room, but if you call MS, there is no points rooms available)
Or more accurately this is like how you can get a GCV hotel room when no villas are available.

Ultimately this probably means there will be times when a Direct purchase DVC owner can book the Manhattan club, when a resale owner cannot secure an RCI trade.

First, THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:

Ran to the points chart. I will be using it.

And seconding this post. It's much more difficult to trade in - especially this resort.

I AM BEYOND THRILLED!!!! :dance3:

Looking at the 2013 point charts, weekdays are currently (and these go up every year). 20-25 points/day for weekdays. But weekends are literally 3x more (60-75)
I can understand why, locals wanting a night on the town..

Very cool, I like this news!

And, on a bit more thought ... doesn't it make perfect sense in light of recent New York ABD offered to DVC owners? Color me happy!

great news..we are staying here for the DVC ABD New York trip and need to add a couple days..I was quoted $400 per night but would much rather use points :)

Do the 25 weekday points include summer months? I wouldn't pay 60 pts for a night, but 25 sounds great!

Has anyone been able to stay here for just one night lately? We are gonna see if we can get one night, a Sun or Mon. Thks

We are too far to try for "just one night" -- but I can report success booking several nights for Thanksgiving this year! :cool1:

My big question is when are we going to see a Concierge Collection point chart for 2014? And what will no longer be available, ie Grand Wailea (now a Hilton, Waldorf Astoria).

Wow 25 points is nice!!! We've only ever gone up to NYC for day trips. It would be very cool to stay overnight!! We just recently took the train up to NYC to Yankee Stadium as a comp my hubby gets. Perhaps on the next stadium hook up we can stay there! How far in advance does it need to be booked?

Some of the rooms have been remodeled some have not and there is a large difference between the two ask for an updated room.

Grand Wailea has been a Waldorf Astoria brand for more than four years
It used to be a Hyatt

Does it specify what a 1 bedroom suite includes anywhere? Wondering if it has any kind of kitchenette and how many it sleeps.
