DVC and grand gathering??

We are staying on points (6 of us) at VWL and SSR next December. Now a friend and her family want to come along. Of course our space is full so she is perfectly willing to stay separate from us - probably All Stars. Can we qualify for a "Grand Gathering". There would be 10-12 of us. Is there anything that Grand Gathering offers that is worth it? I was looking at some of there safari dinner or magical cruise etc. or the breakfast in Magic Kingdom. Are they really special and worth the extra bucks??? As always I appreciate your expertise! Thanks.

Yes, you qualify- you just call member services and get a Grand Gathering #.
We did the International dinner and Illuminations Dessert. It was fun but expensive. Glad we did it but wouldn't do it again.

I have read good things about the Wishes Cruise (or whatever it is called). Try searching some of the other forums.
