DVC and Disney VISA Dining Discounts Question

I asked this question in the long thread on the price increase of TIW but not getting a response. We have decided to NOT buy TIW and to just use DVC/Disney VISA discounts. I see that the DVC discount is good for only the member and up to 3 guests. My DH and I both have cards but we do not have separate memberships (so same number). Does this mean we can get a discount for only 4 people total, or would we be able to get it for 8? Also how does it work as far as who gets the discount? Do you have to designate who your guests are if there are more than what's allowed? What about a place like Via Napoli where we may share a pizza? Is there a limit on the number of people who gets the Disney VISA discount? Just trying to get my head wrapped around this for my upcoming December and June trips. Thanks!

With as much talk about the DVC and Disney VISA discounts being used instead of TIW I know someone has to know the answers to these questions.

We are a family of 5 and they've always taken it off the whole check. The past 2 trips, we've only had 3 of us so it was about 2 years ago that we used it with all 5 of us so I'm not sure if they still handle it the same or not.
