DVC and Disney Resort Reservation-Same Check In Date

I currently have a DVC reservation booked from 10/30-11/8. Today Disney provided an offer that if you book a "package" you can get a free hopper ad on. When looking into this I can book 1 night on 10/30 at All-Star Sports along with a 8 day hopper ticket for $117 less than buying an 8 day ticket with hopper. MDE let me book this package so currently both are under my name with the same family members on both. Do you think I can just complete "online check-in" at All Stars and not even stay there and just use my reservation and stay the night of 10/30 at the DVC resort?

From experience, the Disney reservation system does not handle it well if you have the same name(s) on 2 different reservations for the same night or nights. Be careful
