I am very new to DVC. In the past, good discounts have had an influence on my travel patterns.
I look at the FTP, and it seems like a really good deal. However, I wanted to join DVC, and would not be returning until 2004 anyway. So I bought DVC, and will not look back (have wanted to do this for 4 years).
My question is... Does DVC ever offer great deals similiar to the FTP? I know that some of you have been talking about an email newsletter, for which if you sign up, there is a chance at some PAPs thru a drawing. That is not what I am referring to.
With my mother's vacation club, she can book "getaways" at 30 & 60 days out for significant points and / or cash savings. I know that there are lower level point stays during non-peak travel periods.
10% off a LOS (or PHP) is nice (it is similiar to the DC discount that I have always received right?), but I don't think that I would ever buy one. I plan to vacation at WDW for like 10-15 days per year. APs and PAPs are a much better deal for me, and I will buy a set of APs just prior to the end of the year when DC ceases to exist.
Why would DVC not offer a discount for the APs and PAPs? Or do they, and I just missed it... You would think that DVCers are some of Disney's best guests and will spend the most money shopping, eating, and using recreation.
I know that this can not be a new topic...
