DVC and Dining Reservations

I can hear the collective sigh now, but I really did search to see if this question had been answered before asking it (I'm sure I'm not the first to pose it . . .)

As one of those hated renters (we'll just get that out of the way), when I called to add the dining package on to my reservation for October, I asked member services what number I was to give to Disney Dining when I called them about dining reservations. Lo and behold! Member services told me to call them back to make all of those arrangements.

Naturally, my heart skipped a beat and I once again was trying to figure out how to get my husband to buy in, but I digress.

Question: Assuming that I intend to make my reservations at the 180 mark, and that day is a weekday, are there any likely reservations I will need to call dining about personally at 7 am instead of waiting for Member Services to open? The only (possibly) difficult reservations I can foresee are the Princess Storybook breakfast or Le Cellier dinner.

Moreover, is it proper for me, as a guest, to be using Member Services for this? The lovely woman who told me this (she was so nice!) was fairly insistent that I should go through them, but I just don't feel right about it! I need affirmation from you, DISers and DVC owners, that I would be doing right instead of wrong.

In my experience, the onlt 7AM res I really need to do at that time was Cinderella's Royal Table. Everything else should be fine. The only possible exceptions woul be things that everyone is doing at once (like Liberty Tree for MNSSHP, for example).

I am actually surprised that they were so insistant. Everytime I call I almost always have to give my member number. I like making our reservations, so I haven't used member services.

As an owner, sometimes I use MS for dining ressies, sometimes I call the toll free CRO number. It depends on how many I have to make, and if it is a busy season for MS. As a renter, evidently you are allowed to use MS for dining, but as I said, sometimes it is easier even for members to go through CRO/Disney Dining.
