I'm renting from a DVC member and wanted to know if I can partake in the DDP. How does a DVC member get the dining plan?

The DVC member will likely conference you in to member services, as you have to pay with credit card when you add the dining plan. This is new as of Oct 14. It used to, the DVC member can just add the dining plan to your reservation, and you pay Disney when you check in.

I'm not sure what the current cost of adult DDP is right now. I couldn't find it on Disney's website. Does anyone have a current price? And, I'm splitting my stay up between two resorts, can I just add the DDP to one of the portions of stay, or does it have to be tied to both reservations?

Disney Dining Plan Adult Prices (per night) for DVC reservations:
Quick Service: 2010 $31.99 2011 $34.99
Regular Plan: 2010 $41.99 2011 $45.99
Deluxe Plan: 2010 $71.99 2011 $78.99

As of 10/14, the dining plan must be paid for in full when added to a room reservation. It can be added up to 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Yes, you can add the dining plan to only one portion if you wish. The credits would only be valid during that portion of the stay.

Do you know the cost for kids? on DVC renting points?

It doesn't matter if you are DVC or not (unless you are going at a peak pricing time, then DVC is still regular price for now) - kids are $11.99 for 2011 (regular plan).

Hi! Since this thread gave me a few answers, I want to know if someone can help me with another question regarding the dining plan.

We just purchased 160 at AKV and we plan on going in July. When I purchase the DDP, do I have to do the DDP for the whole week I'm there or can I purchase it for whatever days I want? Do I have to do a block of days or can I purchase for say 7/24, 7/28, 7/29?

Thanks!!

You would have to break up your stay into separate reservations for the days you want the dining plan.

The simple answer is yes, you can do it for whatever days you want.

Here is the caveat. If you are not doing it for the entire stay, you'd better have a solid plan when you make the reservation. Using your example, you will need separate reservations for "7/24" with DDP, "7/25,26,27" with no DDP, "7/28,29" with DDP. Basically, each reservation can be either with DDP or no DDP. But all reservations will be tied in one travel plan with one confirmation number.

If you book just one reservation for 7/24,25,26,27,28,29, and later you want to add DDP to a few days, the reservation needs to be cancelled and rebooked. So it can only be done if there is availability to rebook.

Disneyfanfour, you can also get a debit card in the exact amount of the dining plan and have the DVC member use that to pay for the DDP. That way you don't have to give out your CC info on the phone during a 3-way call.

I did that for a renter recently and it worked well. Just make sure you give the DVC member the card #, full name on the card and PIN# as they'll need it when making the reservation.

And some members may just tell you "no" if they don't want to hassle with it.
