DVC and dining plan

If you contract with a DVC member, can you participate in the dining plan. If you request this when you make arrangements and a offer opens up, such at the free dining in October, can you take advantage of this offer?

You cannot do free dining through DVC. It has to be a package with the WDTC

That is half true. You cannot get freed ining But you can get the DDP. You must notify the member you are renting points from that you want it and they will let them know. Then you pay for it at check in. We have done this before and are doing it agina in January.

Yes, if you are contracting to rent a DVC member's points you can also arrange to have them sign you up for the dining plan. You will pay when you check in. However, you cannot take advantage of the promotional offers for free dining.

I mean, what sweet a deal that would be for DVC owners!

Okay...I have a question on the same subject......

We are booked for 7 nights in January and already booked the DP to go along with it....we are renting points also from a DVC member. We are planning on adding another 2 more nights in another DVC property (if we can get it). My question is....if we are staying 7 nights in one resort and the final 2 nights of our trip in another resort....do we have to extend our DP from 7 nights to 9 nights? Thanks in advance......

No you do not have to do 9 nights, since your reservations are not linked. I think that is a great way to do it as well. Wish we could easily cut our stay into two reservations so we could just do half DDP.
