DVC Adults or Empty Nesters

I'm a DVC member. I have never had kids. I love Walt Disney World. I go down there with various friends. We always have fun.

DH and I are both 29 y.o. DINKS, though we'll be adding kidlets to the mix in another couple of years. We've been going just the two of us or with other adults since 1999. And all have been a blast, our trip in October is the first with a kid, my 1 y.o. niece, and there will be 7 adults there to watch her. :rotfl2:

:cheer2: :cheer2: We love our DVC. We didn't even buy DVC until after our 2 kids were both married with families of their own. Now, both of them are also DVC members. We all love it and either go all together or on our own. We also have several friends that own DVC as well and their kids are grown. We think it dosen't matter what age you are, whether you have a young family or a grown one or grandchildren, DVC is great at any time, for anybody.:cheer2:

We are a kidless couple in our late 40's/early 50's and bought into DVC in 2000. We have loved it :cool1: :cool1:

We especially appreciate the variety of places to stay and the many activities there are to do. We also like the flexibility to go to WDW when we have the 'need' :thumbsup2

Last year (Nov 2006) we did our first taking family trip. This Oct we are doing our first taking friends trip.

There is always something for everyone.

I have gone solo only once. I loved it and yet I hated it. I relaxed and did alot of people watching and spent alot of money shopping - it was xmas time. I went to MVMCP and enjoyed it. :goodvibes I did miss the kids when it came to going on the rides though.:goodvibes :sad2:

Has anyone gone solo????? :confused3

Me :wave2: I spent 3 nights there by myself this past April - and then my husband joined me for two w/o kids...I was a little nervous at first - but I had an absolute blast - did a tour - went on plenty of rides, window shopped, strolled around.

Mostly it was the thought of eating alone that got to me, thought everyone would be staring at me - look at that loser with no friends (tee hee) - but it was perfectly fine - everyone was so busy doing their own thing - no one cared about me! ha ha!

Anyway, I'd do it alone again in a heartbeat!

DF and I are 23 and 24. We're getting married in September but have been going to Disney together since we got together in 2000, when we were 16 and 17. We love it! No kids for us yet. We actually can't imagine going WITH kids, but we're looking forward to it! :)

DW and I are DINK's 40 and 36 and we joined this past January. So far we've enjoyed two long weekend trips and have 3 more scheduled through New Year's!

Has anyone gone solo????? :confused3

definitely love it solo!!!

have more fun since no one to complaint about doing that ride again. Or why aren't we in such and such a park instead of shopping?

or why do you want to do that?

solo is alot of fun. If you get lonely just do a meet. always fun to meet other disers who love WDW like you do.

come visit us solo/adults on the solo adults board

now some people feel strange at first being alone. but WDW is great place no matter what!!!

DD just graduated HS-yikes! She is off to college in the fall. Her b-day is 1 day before our anniversary (in the summer), so we usually never get to celebrate it much. Now maybe, we can take belated anniversary trips. I work for a local school district, so we are still tied to school vacations, but there are always long weekends!

Has anyone gone solo????? :confused3

I go solo most times. I really love the time to do whatever I feel like doing. Just bought in this year at 55 after all the kids were married and gone. One son is in Tampa, so they usually join me for a day or two of each trip. Will be taking my sister for her first time this October.

We're in our early 50's and we love to go w/o our adult kids.......we usually take one family trip (3 kids....26,24, and 18 and one grandson...very close to 6) and one trip just the two of us every year. Our family trip is always on the go, busy, and hectic vacation time. When we go alone we do things we never find the time to do when there are six of us.......it's a much slower pace and we love to find unexpected magical moments!! I'm always looking for an excuse to add another trip w/o the kids.......actually, I'd love to try a solo trip sometime. I will say, however, DH and I took our grandson this past May for a quick four day trip, just the three of us.............his first time w/o Mommy and had a blast.......

DH and I have always gone alone occasionally even when the kids where small.
Now that we're both in our 50's, we still enjoy going and not doing ANYTHING.
Last January, we resort-hopped with our rental car and had a blast doing it.
Another time, we fell asleep after our showers and didn't wake up until after
DARK. :thumbsup2 We call at the last minute for ADR's and take whatever is
available. We've discovered new "favorites" this way. We even snagged last
minute ressies to HDD review and had great seats! Last Dec. we got a 2BR
at SSR and took our grown kids with us and it was wonderful. This year, we're
going again and staying at OKW. My son declined this time, sighting that he
wanted more time at home over Christmas and couldn't take that much time
off of work to join us at WDW too. I said, "Okay, then we'll only need a studio
this year." To which he replied, "You mean, you're going to go ANYWAY??"
Silly, silly boy.........................................:cutie:
