DVC 25th Anniversary Perks

I see the button and I guess maybe the photo thing? Although, that's not even at the Grand Cal or in a park- it's totally out of the way unless someone is purchasing. I only see events for WDW?
Yeah ... pick up your button (I got one inside DCA on Friday), enter the Sweepstakes (open to all members), print your Digital membership card, watch the mail for your new plastic membership card and maybe find a photo printing op over at the Preview Center ... but that is all I see for DLR.

Why is there an expiration date on the member card? I almost fainted when I saw it expires six years from now....I know my contract is longer than that. Took me a minute to realize that's the card's expiration date, not my contract's.

Why is there an expiration date on the member card?
For dining/shopping discounts, the CM only looks at the card and are supposed to ask for a Photo ID. They don't have a way to verify if the person is in fact still a DVC member and eligible for a discount. By adding a expiration date, those that sell will at some point no longer be able to use their DVC card for discounts.

For Annual Passes purchased at WDW, I believe the CM is supposed to key in the membership number to validate eligibility of member pricing.

Does anyone have an idea of how many people they will admit to the DVC Member Bash parties at the Magic Kingdom? We signed up the morning it opened. Wondering if they are still accepting reservations or if it filled quickly. Can't wait!

What's interesting is that the hours for Magic Kingdom have been extended from 9am-9pm to 9am-10pm on Feb 25th, the night of the first member bash. So what effect will that have on the crowds, and will TPTB even try to keep it DVC members only? It sure will have an impact on the first hour when it comes to the rides, imho.

So the quality of this event may already be eroding since it's unlikely they would section off both those areas from the other park guests. Unless they then decide to adjust the hours for DVC although getting later for that will not be great for many people I'd guess.

That's interesting! Just a few days ago the park closing was listed at 9 p.m. On the flip side, this allows DVC members who are only coming for the party with no tickets to ride Big Thunder or Splash or Pirates before the park closes.

DVC members can enter the park starting at 7pm so they will have ample time to take in other rides.

Any guesses what the complimentary snacks will be at the Magic Kingdom party? Did they have complimentary snacks at the Beach Party last year? If so, what were they? Hope they aren't the cookies from MVMCP... we didn't care for them. I'm hoping for popcorn and beverages.

At the beach bash it was lays chips, a sugar cookie I think, some drink but I don't remember maybe lemonade and water, and Mickey bars and sandwiches

True if you have park admission, if you don't you can only get in at 9:30pm.
From the event details page:
Event is from 9:30 PM to midnight; Members and their guests can enter the park as early as 7:00 PM
..
Complimentary admission to the after-hours event at Magic Kingdom park is valid for the duration of the event, which begins at 9:30 PM. If you wish to enter Magic Kingdom park before 7:00 PM, valid theme park admission is required.
Clearly states that you can enter beginning at 7 PM without separate theme park admission.

No. As I said DVC members will be allowed into the park at 7PM on this event admission.

If one had regular park admission they could go in even earlier but that is not what I was talking about.

Thanks to you and erionm for pointing that out, I had misread the part about 7 pm. I still wonder how and where they will set up the "party" and refreshments to assure that it isn't overrun by non dvc members.

Well. There goes that idea for those of us with younger kids.

Here now and just wanted to post that I was able to get an extra day and also the waterpark option added to my tickets that I bought in November. I am not and was not planning to use them this trip. One of the reasons I bought two tickets when I was here in November was because I wanted to get the discover Apple pay promotion and save the tickets for a future trip. So be able to exchange them for this promotion was very nice for me. :)

Quick Question...Will there be a parking structure open during the MK Bash? I will be staying offsite and driving to MK for the bash.
