Been trying to talk her into a trip before 2018 for months, a little overselling of the perks ("they're throwing in ticket discount?!?!"), delaying each bullet point through the afternoon ("whoa, check this out, there's free soft drinks at the lounge too?!?!"), sure beats nothing until 2018.

I'm more a 6 month wait kind of cat....this is killing me. A lot of strategy has been tried.

Don't get me wrong, the ticket offer is pretty comical. But, I'm too busy turning DVC lemons into my own LemonAid.

Not worth it for me coming from the north east with cost of flights and stuff. If your more local it might worth it or if you were thinking of going sometime this summer than you might as well plan it around those dates.

So, "complementary after hours" party at MK, does this mean I won't need theme park admission to attend? I'll be there Feb 25th, staying at VWL but hadn't planned on going to a park that day.

We went last year. We did not enjoy it at all. Crowded and loud. I think many did enjoy the "party" but not our family.

Special ticket offer is laughable.

Especially considering the special package offer to the general public last week was also a free ticket day. Worth $10 plus tax ($10.65).

The free day is commonly available through Undercover Tourist. I just bought a 3 day with 1 day free. I guess the WP and more add-on is different, but we so rarely use that. Not to mention, we typically go for 7-9 days, so a 5+ day ticket is still a better deal.

Oh well, we took advantage of the PAP deal a couple years back, so we occasionally get to use a deal of value.

I think the OP had the first date incorrect - it's listed on the DVC Site as 6/23 not 6/21. We will be there that week & have no plans for that evening so it fits in nicely with our schedule!

we did as well….which ran out last june….

So now its TWICE that price for the same benefits.

Even though i know that it was a promo (NOT during a down economy - i might add) and those are not guaranteed (apparently the gate at MGM isn't either - as it is effectively 50% mothballed)…the only word i can apply in my head to this current state is "egregious".

I was warming up to the idea of buying some good old fashioned MYW tickets for late spring - which i went from main gate in 2002 to AP every since - and then going AP gold (downgrade) sometime within the next 3-6 months after.

But now…after taking a minimum ten months off (which we never have)…this "special offer" actually makes me want to not do either. I can't be anything but offended at this point. Perhaps i'm spoiled…but I'm also a longtime, loyal, frequent traveling, high spending WDW consumer…who has also recently purchased passes to a competitor - and i felt good all week about that.

Honestly - i could give a $%?^!* what they're spending in China or what they're "losing" on outdated ESPN free money.

I'm gonna guess that's a big fat "no way"…i imagine you have to have a ticket scanned somewhere that day to use the "members only" park hours…they likely couldn't stomach anything else.

Are you trying to suggest that a 400% markup is unreasonable since then?

I'm sure everybody makes that much more no problem...and they fill their swimming pools with all that disposable cash...
