DVC 200 pt Club or below........

180 at OKW since 1993. We've used them well and often.

We have 200 points at SSR that we bought October 2003. We wanted to have enough for a week in a studio for the busiest time of the year. Just DH & I, both 50, both married for the second time and loving it this time around!!!!!!!!!

We want to move to Florida this year, so we figure then we'll have enough for a few trips per year, not using weekend points.

Another WLV person with 170. I wonder if the sales people pushed that amount when WLV came up for sale.
I was told that I could purchase as low as 150 but 170 would be so much better for me because of the many trips I take to WDW. I wish I had let him talk me into a few more, I never seem to have enough to make it through the year.
I couldn't even tell you how many trips I take because I visit so often. Sometimes with points and sometimes with AP discounts.
But I was able to take the entire family last summer using points at a 2 bedroom at BCV and a 1 bedroom at OKW.
But I do think 1000 points would be too much for even me. Peggie

210 point at BCV!!

Went to OKW in October for our first trip home with DW, DD, FIL & MIL. We've been going to WDW since 1990 but never owned DVC until this year.

We coulnd't have asked for anything better!

but I am so proud that I bought it all by myself with money I earned from my Tastefully Simple business! I decided on a trip in Nov '02 when we toured the models on a whim that I HAD to own. My DH, who I never thought I would convince, said he was all for it but I would have to buy it with my TS income. So... 9 mths later I did!

I like 150 points for now. I am a strong believer in trying to not offer my kids EVERYTHING they want, so this way it forces us to appreciate the time we do get to spend. I know they are still lucky kids, but this way we won't be going more than once every other year, since we have three preschoolers and will need the space of a 2-bedroom in a few years.

It's pretty funny, though, how quickly my in-laws caught on to the concept. Once they found out about the timeshare, they "offered" to come along on our first trip. When they found out we wouldn't be able to fit them in our 1-bedroom, they changed their minds! Even further proof 150 pts is just the right amt! :hyper:

200 points BCV (2 @ 100) - ALMOST!

Our first closing was January 10th (still waiting for our membership packet from Disney), our second is January 27th. Can't wait to have a membership number in hand!

200 Points @ BCV

We knew that we could get buy in at 150, but when we sat down with the guide and analyzed ofur WDW travel habits, he suggested that we go with 175. We went home, thought about it some more and decided that we had the xtra income at this time to add another 25, so we bought our initial contract 2 days later for 200 points (wanted to make sure that we had enough points for a GV for a week, with banking and borrowing).

We bought in May, 2003.

Our first trip home is in 2 weeks. Our UY is Dec. So here is how we are using our points (we are buying new APs next month)

Dec 2003 UY
Feb 8 - 15 BCV Studio - 123 points
Sept 6 - 10 BCV Studio - 48 points
Banked the remaining 29 points

Dec 2004 UY
Dec 12 - 19 BCV 1 BR - 208 points

We currently have 21 Dec 2004 UY points remaining. We may try to change our Sept trip to an OKW Studio and bank the additional 16 points. That would give 37 and then we may borrow from 2005, to book a 2005 trip either over Labor / Memorial day.

We intend to take 2 trips per year, one during the cold Winters here in Minnesota, and and then one in either late spring / early fall each year. Changing the dates slightly each year to make sure that we get WDW for Flower fest, food & wine, MVMCP, MNSSHP.

We will attempt to have about 10-15 nights per calendar year.

We're jussssst outside your club limits at 205, with an initial contract at BWV for 175 in '99, then an add-on of 30 pts in April '03. We added on the 30 pts because we "added on" to our family in 2000 (fam of 4 adds a dd -- now fam of 5!) The 30 pts were really needed! We originally thought we would vacation every year for 5 days, but then decided we really preferred the long trips more, so now we do a bit of banking / borrowing, and bring along some family for a semi-annual 2-week stay.

The every-other year deal just works for us, somehow. ON the one hand, it would be nice to go more frequently, but on the other, the drive is a real killer, and there's no good airport here (nearest LARGE airport is at least 2 hrs away -- otherwise it's just a mess of commuter planes -- UGH). Going every other year, we make the drive part of the fun and just reallllly enjoy our 2 weeks! We also enjoy putting days of "nothingness" inbetween our park days -- really makes it a true vacation!

I will add that we have gotten spoiled by the space of a 2br. Heaven help us if we ever stay in a GV -- we'll have to add-on again for sure! Say, THERE'S a marketing idea for DVC for add-ons -- upgrade someone's stay to a GV and then they would HAVE to add-on! (Please, DVC! Let me be your first Guinea Pig for this idea! Wheek! Wheeek!) ::yes::

200 Points at BWV.

I was fortunate to buy a resale with 200 banked points, so I am starting out ahead of the game. I plan on mixing it up between one bedroom accomodations and studios. Probably change lenght of stays etc. I plan on at least one annual trip to WDW. Some years there will be two.

I also want to try other DVC resorts down the line too!:)

I started with 60 points and am now up to 90; maybe one day I might get up to a full size contract........

200 points at VWL--It's working well for us right now, but our youngest is not going to fit in that pack-n-play forever! I guess we'll be needing enough points for a two-bedroom pretty soon (maybe if we hit the lottery;) )

160 pts at BCV, new owner July 2003! I LOVE the flexibility of DVC.
We can travel from midweek to midweek rather than the weekend like so many other timeshares...improves the airfare dramatically!

150 points at SSR. I'd like to have about 250 but I won't be able to consider an add on for a few years. I need to pay off a couple bills first.

I have 60 OKW points and they are working for what I need right now.

150 points at OKW. We joined Nov. 2003 so we have not had a chance to use them yet, but we will use them for 2004, staying at the GC in California for a few nights. After that, we hope to do a studio either every year at OKW and also try the other DVC resorts, or do a 1 bedroom every other year. I wish we had more points, but am grateful we could buy these.::yes::

200 points at SSR! Currently have a trip planned 12 nights in a studio for June... I am waitlisted for more points at VWL but I heard that could be a LOOOONG wait
