DVC “Confessions”

And if you’re only interested in parades, MK is a 30 minute park.

One thing I learned as an adult is not everyone will see the world like I do or be interested in the same things I am interested in, and that's okay. Evidently not everyone else got the same lesson.

I just find the whole place so engaging. I could even just people watch there from Harambe all day, happily!
Yes when DD was little we used to go two days in a row. Everything was so unique and animal lovers. Now we stay most of the day but not as long as before. Our friends with littles always said it was a half day park and we were like WHY????

Last trip we only managed a 1/2 day (plus extra evening hours) at AK because we had other priorities (birthday, MVMCP, etc) and it wasn't really enough time. When our kids were little, it was a 1/2 day park because we always went in the summer and we were too too hot. Now we need more than 1 day just to eat the food.

Back then, HS was our 1/2 day park, or even 0-day park, before Galaxy's Edge and TS Land. And Epcot keeps getting more and more time.

In addition, those boring Member Lounges are given way more credit than they're due because, hey! there's a Coke Freestyle machine in the bland spaces!
I remember a friend of mine posted on FB a picture saying, "here we are in the DVC lounge". And, based on the picture, I replied without exaggeration, "what? It looks like you're in a generic office hallway." I wasn't trying to be a smart@ss, that is literally what it looked like.

The Emperor has no clothes. FOMO, indeed.

it was just a matter of convincing the wife which took a lot less effort then I thought it would. I think it was seeing the tub in the 1 Bedroom in the Riviera and the washer/dryer which solidified it.
Must be why they show the 1 bedroom. I wanted more points (direct since all we had was akl resale) and husband was not convinced. 24 hrs after seeing that room he was all in and we were direct members!

I could sit and watch the gorillas for hours. I feel like I give that away when I start asking about the gorillas by name..... 😬

Yay! I've found my people! I was afraid that I was the only one who had such a love for Animal Kingdom. Did you ever notice that the Bachelor Gorillas remind one of adolescent boys in school (yes, I was a teacher)? There were years that the CMs had to make sure they went into their night houses one at a time-otherwise they'd play "Push and Shove", like 8th grade boys at the pencil sharpener. And I was there one day when 2 of the gorillas would hide behind a third and steal his "toy", then hide it. So funny to watch-brought back memories of my school days.

When we walked Riviera they showed us all of them - including the 3 bedroom 'you'll never be able to stay here but I'll tease ya anyway' and I know the moment my wife saw that 1 bedroom was when she actually joined the conversation

this December we decided it was time to explore adding either to our contract or getting a new one so this was our first time going to the showroom at Saratoga. Gorgeous area. Well like you said they were quick to show the 1 bedroom of the new poly tower which I think is awesome I like the Riviera 1 bedroom layout and think the Poly was a great step forward. If we had gotten the same deal with got to adding to our existing contract I think we would have done the Poly for that as our second.

...Just means my first secondary market contract will be the Poly.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and one of the younger males was in a tree and the limb broke, he fell out and did a barrel roll down the hill. In come 2 adult males to see what the commotion was. The one from the tree sneaks off like it wasn’t me but the two older ones both went for the broken branch. They ended up fighting over it like a schoolyard brawl. It was so awesome to watch them interact in such a natural way, we stood there for at least 30 minutes. DH always says AK is his favorite park, tied with EPCOT for me!

I gotta say AK is also our favorite park. Love the Vibe. The Grandkids love it. Great to stroll and take it in. The other parks are great, but can be very busy and crowded. It is out place to relax and refresh.

Did I read correctly there is a DVC lounge in AK?
I know there is one in Epcot. Are there others other than Epcot?
Thank you so much!

My wife rode Rise of the Resistance with Josh D’Amaro and his kids on Monday, injured herself getting into the ride vehicle in front of him, didn’t know who he was, asked how long he waited (less than 1 minute was his answer).

Plus AK has the best bar of any park…
Been a while since I have imbibed there, but we have always loved Dawa.
