DVB Studio vs Ocean View Inn Room?

OK, anyone who has stayed at DVB...besides the "ocean view" what is the difference between a studio & and an Inn Room. Does the studio have a queen and a sofa bed/pull-out and the Inn have 2 queens? Is it that much bigger? Are they "queen" beds or "full" beds? What do the "studio" rooms face?

I've stayed in an Inn room and in a one bedroom.

The studios face the bushes, like anything that isn't an ocean view. If the studio is on a higher floor you may have some luck with seeing the ocean.

A studio is just that, a DVC studio. An Inn room is like a hotel room and is in the main building.

Overall, I'd take the studio, but that's just me.

we prefer the inn rooms for the 2 queen beds. also laundry is easier in the inn its on the 4th floor unlike the other buildings where it is in the garage.

Was in a studio in March. I think it was a queen bed. The second bed was a pullout couch. Our view was of the pool, just next to the kids splash area. I think we would have liked the OV inn room better, but that's just because it was for our anniversary trip sans kids. :-)

I'm staying for a week in January, and would love to have a 1 bedroom with its full kitchen, but the side buildings in many cases don't have good views, so I booked an OVIR for myself and my DGF. We'll have two queen beds, and I suppose we'll eat a lot of sandwiches that week!

I must admit that ever since I made the reservation, it's one that I keep thinking I should change to the larger unit, but I also think that in January, the weather could be raw, not for swimming, but if I was bundled up on the balcony, reading and watching the ocean I would be happy! I've been in the side buildings twice and neither time was there anything to see besides vegetation, even on the second floor.

Maybe you won't miss the 1 bedroom as much as you think.

When we had an OVIR, we had a wall of large windows overlooking the ocean and a balcony overlooking the pool. I'll try to describe the room layout. From the balcony, there were the two queen beds and then the bathroom. Then a hallway along the window wall that had a large closet opposite th windows. Then at the end of the hallway, a sleep sofa with a window over it (high up on the wall, but it made the area light). That window overlooked the resort lawn and bar balcony. Then to the left of the sofa was the galley kitchen and then the door to the Inn hallway. Just outside the entrance to the room was a stairway that came out right outside the entrance to the TS restaurants. Very convenient!

Don't remember the room number, but the room was amazing. We loved it and the next time we visit VB, I wouldn't mind at all getting "stuck" in that OVIR again.

Have a wonderful time - and I hope you and your DGF get "stuck" with "MY" room, LOL.

Wow, you lucked out! :goodvibes Thanks for the "hope!"

We absolutely love the OVIR's! (Except the ones that join to the Green Cabin Room). Nothing like hearing that ocean. We mis VB and have it on our agenda in a couple of years!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies.:goodvibes I actually booked an OVIR right after my original post. It was strange as I originally wanted a Sat, Sun, Mon night reservation and I was going to book the OVIR but then when I checked the other day they only had a studio.

Strangely enough if I added Fri to it they had a OVIR room as well, go figure, guess I'll just have to splurge for the xtra night. (You'd figure it would be the opposite as this is the weekend before Thanksgiving so you think it will fill up more on Mon nite? Go figure...) They are running a pretty good FL resident rate and since we didn't do a getaway this summer, we deserve it.;) This will be our first stay at DVB although we've been to WDW dozens of times. Any areas to request (I know nothing is guaranteed, but I really press on a "quiet" room if possible away from elevators, etc)? Do all of the rooms have connecting doors?

We like to visit Melbourne, so I figure we'll make a day of it since it's only about 45 min away from VB (dd loves the Brevard zoo there). Yet, we'll get a nice taste of Disney at the resort and I'll be sure to book the Sat. morning breakfast now that we'll be staying Friday night.

What kind of activities do they have at the resort for 13 yr olds during the day that aren't pool related?

You've already booked but I have a few thoughts for info purposes. The studio has a queen and pull out love seat and is somewhat triangular shaped (like OKW). The Inn rooms (most of them anyway) are rectangular with 2 queens. the overall size and kitchen are essentially the same. The view from the studios vary based on the location, some are as good as the upper level OVIR, some as bad as the GV units. Then there are the corner Inn Rooms which are the best overall in that unit size I believe. Of course there's also the fact that the Inn rooms are in the main building.

Do all the OVIR have a sleeper sofa like the one room that was described?? Does anyone know the room #'s of the corner rooms??? Also, two posters mentioned kitchen area in the OVIR, do all those rooms have a kitchenette???
TY

Other than shape/location, the kitchens are identical to the studios. I don't have the room numbers, those that do are likely hoarding them and wishing I hadn't mentioned it. The Inn rooms have 2 queens and NO love seat other than some of the odd shaped rooms that have a little extra.

Am I right that the studios are the same as a studio room in, let's say SSR? And the OVRI rooms would be like a regular room with the kitchenette area? (like the studios at OKW? Even though I've never stayed at OKW I have seen photos of the rooms).

I was looking forward to an ocean view room - that's why I mainly booked an OVRI. I figured if we're going to stay in a resort on the beach I think I'd like a view of the ocean if possible.;) ...I'll save the "garden views" for WDW. I'm not big on "pool" views though because they can be somewhat noisy. Are the OVRI rooms over the pool at all?

There are some OVIRs on the pool side of the building, so you see the ocean beyond the pool.

That is not correct if I understand your question correctly. The nothing else is really like VB. One way to look at it is that a studio at VB is like an OKW studio only a little smaller and with one queen plus a love seat pull out. A VB IR is like say a SSR studio if the studio had 2 queens instead a queen plus pullout.
