DV 7/4 park ticket question?

Not sure if i'm suppose this question here, but let's give it a try. I'm thinking about doing the DV deal and i know it comes with Ultimate park hopper passes. After crunching some numbers, i think this may be a very economical choice. Here is the catch, i have an annual pass.
Are these tickets exactly like regular PH tickets in that they never expire? The other members in my party don't have an Ap so I thought that this way we could all get tickets and accomodations in one. Would i be able to save the PH tickets and use them at a different time if I'm not getting an AP for that year?

Your AP's will expire 1 yr from the date you activate them. If you have the vouchers and never activated them, they won't expire.

UPH are length of stay hopper (from my understanding) so they are only good for the stay in which you received them. So therefore, you can not "hold on to them" until next time.

ouch! is there something or somewhere that says this? If they're like regular park tickets then how come they can expire?

Yep, UPH expire upon checkout (you can use them that entire day)

Ultimate Park Hopper Passes - Provide unlimited admission to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and Disney's Wide World of Sports (not valid for Hard ticketed events).

There are major advantages and disadvantages to purchasing UPH's. The major advantage is that you can come and go as you please to any of Disney's theme parks, water parks, Pleasure Island, Wide World of Sports and DisneyQuest for as long as you stay without worrying about keeping track of used park days and plus options as you would with regular tickets. The major disadvantage to UPH's is that if you don't go to any of the Disney parks on a certain day (due to illness, offsite activities, visits to other Orlando theme parks, day spent at the resort pool, etc) you are still paying Disney for a day of admissions that you didn't use and can't save for future use.

UPH's are valid from the moment you check-in (or 12:01 am of the first day you purchased them for if you dropped your arrival day) through midnight of your day of departure day (or through midnight of the last full day you purchased it for if you dropped your departure day.
