i've always used comforters. Now I have a down comforter and duvet cover. I don't know how to use this. I feel like an idiot. Which way does the comforter go into the duvet cover. It has the long channels and one extra full one going horizontally. It is made to have one side with more stuffing then the other and colored thread so you can tell which is which. Right now because that is where the full horizontal baffle is, I have the colored thread up in the top of the comforter where there is no opening so I can't tell which side is which. Also, which side of the bed gets the buttoned seam. And when I make the bed I can't seem to figure out how to get the shams in a spot where they look right. I love the comforter but it's driving me nuts. It's hard to make the bed with it to begin with because it's awkward and sort of heavy. Doesn't just shake on like the old comforters I was using. help.

I put the buttoned seam at my feet mostly because I don't want buttons hitting me in the face while i sleep. I usually don't "shake" it out like you would with normal comforters. About once a week i stick in in the dryer on the "fluff" (air dry) option for like 20 minutes. It usually does a good job of making it poofy again. I'm not sure what to tell you about the colored thread because mine doesn't have that. its the same on both sides :)
