Duty Free Shops?

Since we are cruising July 14th, are we able to use the duty free shops at the airport since we are leaving the country?

You generally cannot make purchases in the duty-free shops of airports unless you hold tickets to a foreign destination. I believe that most of the shops are through the security checkpoints in the international terminals (at least that's how it is at LAX). Since you'll be flying from NY to Orlando, I don't think that you'll be able to purchase duty free. Of course, I'm not a Customs agent, this is just my understanding of how duty-free works.
