anyone have the prices from the duty free shop just wondering if we should make purchases befor we leave home thanks

Do you mean the duty free shop on the ships? If so, I don't have the exact prices but they are very comparable to what you'll find at the ports. For example, Absolute for $9 and a second bottle for $7. The shop usually runs specials each day. Very good prices.

However, keep in mind that all alcohol purchases will be held until the last night of your cruise.

so would you say it would be better to buy befor we board why do they hold duty free purchases until the last evening

They hold the duty-free alcohol purchases so that people aren't inclined to mix their own drinks and forgo patronizing the bars. (At least that's what I've been told.)

As for buying befor you get on the ship, I can't really answer that. I think the costs of drinks onboard the ship are pretty reasonable. They run daily specials and the cost of a mixed drink runs from $2.99 to $7.00 or so. On average I think they run about $5.00.

If you are looking to mix your own drinks, then you'll have to buy before you board. If you're looking for good deals on liquor, then I would buy onboard.

If you can wait until your first stop you can get everything really cheap there. Just bring a bottle or two for the first few nights. In St Maarten, I got a bottle of stoli for $5.50. I dont think there was anything over $10 there. Unless of course your drinking Louie. That will cost you, but it is still better than US prices.
