Does anyone know if it is cheaper to buy your duty free cigs at the airport( Belfast) or on the plane? Thomas Cook sent a flyer with my tickets and it said 400 marlboro gold were £40. Also do they have a good stock of duty free on the plane, as i would not want to wait and then find out they did not have what i wanted. Thanks

i flew monarch from gatwick and i got mine from duty free was £29 for mayfair and on the fligt they were £25 for a pack of 200. i think the alboro lights where $65 dollars in publix in orlando and at the sanford airport mayfair was buy 2 get 1 free at $20 dollars each !

They had that deal on Silk Cut and a few other brands at MCO in 2009 as well. I have found it much cheaper to buy on the US duty free side than it is from the UK. I think they run various offers and promotions on the different brands from time to time and those offered on the airline differ from those at the airport. I wouldn't say that they are always necessarily cheaper on the flight as this has only once been the case for me - it can go either way and unless you can find out in advance what your options are, it is luck of the draw I guess.

Oh and always cheaper to buy 400 packs than 200. I can't take adantage of that as I am the only adult in our party which would put me over my 200 per person allowance.

Thanks guys for your help. I think i will just buy at the airport, that way i know i can get what i want.
