We are headed to Lancaster the day after Thanksgiving for the weekend. Last year we did the Candylane at Hershey and had a great time. This year we were thinking the Winter Wonderland at Dutch Wonderland. It is $9.95 to get in.

The kids in our group are 4, 6 and 7. I was wondering if anyone had been and is it worth it?

Thanks!

Hi,
We used to live in NY before we moved to FL:sad2: anyway we used to go to Dutch Wonderland every summer also Hershey Park, we love it there it is geared more for younger children, but I'm sure you 7 yr old will have fun there too.

I have not done the winter thing. It is very old in rides- so think old fashioned kind of rides like a boat ride around the parking lot.

To compare it to hershey is like apples and oranges. I prefer Hershey with the Lights at night thing- if you have not done it we LOVE that. It puts you in the holiday mood.

I think Hershey went to admission instead of tickets now for the winter thing. And I thought it was expensive.
Hmm I should look into it. We liked doing Hershey, The Lights and Boyd's bears(it was about an hour away but oh so cute)

Yeah. You have to pay admission now for Hershey Christmas Candylane. The price of admission is

Dutch Winter Wonderland
$9.95 plus free parking

Hershey Christmas Candylane
$9.95 and children 2 and under are free

They also have a combo ticket...$13 gets you one visit to each park.

Looking at both calendars, Hershey is open more days during the holiday season and they have longer operating hours. You will also have to pay to park at Hershey. But, you will be able to go to Chocolate World and Zoo America too. If you go to Dutch Wonderland, you can hit the outlets beforehand. They have special sales and events at Tanger and Rockvale outlets starting at 12 midnight on Black Friday. People actually start lining up right after Thanksgiving dinner(around 6pm) to be first in line. I know a couple years ago they were giving out free Christmas trees to the first hundred people or so in line. I think that has become a tradition.

But I work there. ;)

There is a brand new choreographed light show planned for DW this year which will be included in your park admission. There are around 20 rides open including the train, bumper cars, fun slide, carosel, etc. Santa visits, there is a mother/daughter ventriloquist act (it looks really fun!) plus a Polar Playground. The park is geared towards the younger set, but 7 is a great age.

I haven't been to HP since they went one-price admission, and my son was really little then -- maybe 1 1/2. HP is fun too -- we go in the summer.

Hope to see you at DW! If you do plan on coming, let me know and I'll wear my lime green mickey ears. ;)

Hey, we'll be there too for the Thanksgiving weekend too. We'll be staying at Willow Valley for their Thanksgiving package get-away weekend. I just want to do something different this November.

We plan on going to DW Saturday night. Friday night, Kitchen Kettle has something fun going on.

I like the price of $9.95 cuz I have two older children who won't truly appreciate DW.
