We have a serious dust problem in our home, mainly in our bedroom, because everything we have is down, and we live in the country where a lot of the fields by us bring in dust. In the fact that our drive is gravel. It’s seriously bad everywhere I live before was never like this.

So I’m just curious do air purifiers actually get rid of dust problems? We are not allergist, so that’s not the point for us I simply just don’t want to have to have dust every week. I mean I can handle normal standard dust and live with it for a while like it did in my old places, but this is just really insane.

I’m also curious like what is the filter look like then after a while and these machines is it like a vacuum bag?

I’ve been looking at Amazon and there’s a whole wide price range, but many seem to focus on cleaning the air for allergens, but that’s not our issue. I just don’t want dust.

Any experience where you notice s a difference in dust if you get one of these machines? You have to have these running 24/7?

Do you keep windows open? Raised two kids with asthma and was told to not have windows open at dawn and dusk, that is when it kicks up outside most.

Drying laundry outside brings it in too.

The enjoyable stuff is the culprit so sometimes just gotta make peace with things.

I don't remember the purifiers helping any but maybe something like this, you'll get less dust but might mess with a peaceful view https://www.homedepot.com/p/Activat...KXeup_x2DG0saW1XwAkaAiz9EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Don't have any type of those standalone dust removal machines, but I have found that buying better quality air filters does help quite a bit. The better ones screen out more of the smaller particles so they aren't floating around in your house. Look on the label to see the level of filtration they provide. They also sell electronic air clearers you can attach to your HVAC system.

With any of the standalone units be sure to check out how long the filters last and how much they cost to replace. They can get quite pricey. All filters are designed to trap small particles, so they eventually have to be replaced for maximum effectiveness.

I have two whole house air purifiers from my smoking days. Excellent at lowering interior smoke smell but pretty useless when it comes to dust. Had the same problem when we overlooked a large park.

We dont have forced air in our home. So no filtets

FWIW, I use the cheap woven fabric air filters for my HVAC. The problem with many higher filtration media is that it can cause excessive back pressure on the unit leading to failures. I change my filter every 2-3 months without issues.

We did have a standalone machine, but it really was to serve as a white noise generator when sleeping. It got pretty dirty, though.
