Hi Everyone. I have been searching for information on cleaning procedures or any type of procedure for people with allergies to dust and dust mites. My daughter is HIGHLY allergic to dust mites and very allergic to dust. During one of our past trips she woke up one morning with her eyes swollen shut. At the time we did not know of her allergies but now we know it was because of the dust. Last year we vacationed in Williamsburg, VA and they ionized the room before we checked in to make sure the air was clean for her. Does Disney do anything to help out in this matter? I always rip the quilt off the beds but I have noticed the rooms to be pretty dusty in the past, especially under and around the bed. I appreciate any help. I have sent Disney an e-mail about this but have been waiting about a week for a reply and still nothing. Thank you so much for all the help. She is also allergic to eggs so I got some good info about that on the thread.

When you make the reservation make sure it states "Special Room Cleaning" due to medical needs.

They will do a high-level cleaning of the room and all the lines will have been double washed and fresh, including blankets and bedspread.

If you call and speak with them and tell them what you need they may be able to help. My son always has some sort of allergic reaction while there (we are not sure what he is allergic to) so this time I called and asked that they use fragrance free laundry soap for our linens. They pulled off the mattress covers and washed everything per my request. I was a little disappointed that the room wasn't ready until 5 as my DS is also autistic and is not comfortable in the parks until we go to the cabin and he puts all of his things where he wants them and spends some time in the cabin. Also they didn't get the bedspread washed, dried and delivered until the next day as the laundry staff was not told until check in that we had requested this. This made me rather upset as I spoke with someone when we made reservations, called three days before we left as a reminder and then mentioned it again when we check in at 9AM. I am not sure why there was a communication error to laundry services and because of this the first day was very stressful for our son. He kept pestering us to call to see if the room was ready. Also, I guess it isn't the laundry detergent that he is allergic to as he still broke out while there. I wish I could figure out what it might be so we could avoid it on our next trip.

Again your best bet is to call and speak with someone there and see what they can/can't do for you. They do seem to be pretty accommodating.

Thank you both so much for the replies. I feel better knowing that there are accomidations that can be made. I will be sure to make the notes on our reservation and I will call once we get closer.
