Duran Duran is back!!!

Another 30-something year old Duranie here :wave2:. Somewhere up in my attic I even still have all my old Duran Duran posters and stuff . And their songs really were very interesting musically, especially for 80's music. Simon's lyrics were bizarre to say the least ("Shake up the picture, the lizard mixture" "The reflex is an only child, he's waiting in the park" ), but they sure had some terrific bass parts (and the cutest bassist  ).

Another huge DD fan from the 80s here. I never had the opportunity to see them in concert, though.

Now that I'm older, richer, and I can drive, I'd love to see them. Hmm, do you think they're counting on that being the norm?

I saw them in '84 too, at the Spectrum in Phildaelphia. What an experience. My best friend and I were in heaven! She adored John while I was partial to Simon and Nick. Looking at them today I'd have to go with Roger and Andy. They look great.

I was curious as to whether they had a new CD out, so I looked it up. Looks like Astronaut will be released October 12th.

Just saw these appearances listed on the site.

The band has yet to announce dates for a fall tour in support of the new album, but several TV appearances are lined up. Duran Duran will drop in Oct. 12 on ABC's "Good Morning America," the following day on the syndicated "Live With Regis & Kelly" and Oct. 19 on the syndicated "Last Call With Carson Daly."

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I saw them last August in NYC, they are in fine form and sounding better than ever. I can't wait for this album to be released. I'm waiting to see if I got tickets to Last Call with Carson Daly, I put in a request for them so I could see DD again.

Oops! It was 2000 that I saw them. I had my years wrong. I saw them two times before that, but I don't know the dates. I never got to see Andy and Roger with them at any of the 3 shows. It would be exciting to see all of the original band members.

Oops, I just looked at my first post again and I said John wasn't with them. It was Andy and Roger who were missing, not John. John was there all three times. I am confused so I will go now.

WooHoo!!!!:rockband: That took me right back to Junior High!!

Another old time Duranie here! I'm so glad they're all back together, they look and sound FABULOUS!

I heard the new song when they put it out awhile back on the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy soundtrack and my kid and I couldn't stop listening to it, I'm so glad they're releasing it as a single! If they can do this well on the whole CD I will be overjoyed! I didn't care for Medazzaland too much LOL.

Of course, any Duran2 is better than no Duran at all!

That song is so positive, that's why I love it..."Reach out for the sunrise, put your hands into the big sky, you can touch the sunrise, feel a new day enter your life!"

You go, Simon! LOL:Pinkbounc

I just watched the video and I like the song alot! Very catchy tune! I am glad they are back and my sister will be pleased as well! She really used to like John Taylor and I was always partial to Nick!! LOL

I still listen to Arcadia and Power Station...as a matter of fact, I have "The Promise" from Arcadia on now! :)

For all the John Taylor fans out there, I thought I'd share a pic...enjoy!
