Duracell comercial

I saw a Duracell comercial tonight for the BrickHouse Locator. It was a mom in the park with a child 5ish and she was tending to a baby in a stroller, she turns around and the older child has disappeared. She then used the BrickHouse Locator to find him.

Has anyone heard anything about this product? I'm thinking it would be good for my DS7. He is very high functioning ASD but he will wander off and be completely oblivious to the fact that he's lost. He can disappear like the mist and it scares me when we're in crowded public places (especially WDW).

It works like Lo-Jack on a car. You register the tag and name it. You can set the distance such as how far away before it starts beeping. You can attach the tags to shoes, belts or put it in a stroller. Any object or person. It really is a good idea I think. The only problem I see is putting it on shoes, what if a dementia patient or autistic child takes off their shoes. Maybe sew a pouch into the clothes so they do not remove the tag.

Very interesting item.

I checked the site the first time I saw the add. The only problem with the one they are advertising is that it only has a range of 600’. That and the fact that it was out of stock. The better GPS model is quite pricey but for those with more serious needs it might be worth it. Maybe someone will start a rental service for the better units at WDW.

Also that 600 feet is for open space without buildings or trees.
