My DH works in IT, so he is in an office environment, but jeans are allowed (and are what most of the guys wear). Recently he's needed some new ones, ok, no problem. BUT...these last few pairs I've bought him have had a problem with belt loops ripping out and holes developing at the corners of the pockets, within the first month or so of wearing!

These are Urban Pipelines from Kohl's (same brand as his older pairs that lasted 2-3 years) and Wranglers. Both are having the same issues.

What brands do you like for durability?

DH likes the St. John's Bay ones sold at JCP.
My brother, on the other hand swears by Old Navy.
HTH!

DH is also in IT and wears jeans from Old Navy. The only place they wear out is the back right pocket since he got that stainless steel wallet from thinkgeek.com.

DH really likes the Arizona brand from JCP. He is a banker so he usually just wears them for home and fun times but they seem to last a pretty long time. The only place they wear out is the side belt loop where he pulls them up! If he would stop using it as a handle they would probabaly last longer!

If they are wearing out a month after you purchase them from kohls then I would take them back. It's obviously a problem with the jeans themselves. Instantly new jeans that you dont have to pay for. I have brought back a pair of sketchers that I bought my DS5 that after 2 weeks the light stopped working. They refunded me the money no problem and i bought DS a new pair. As for another place to buy inexpensive jeans, I have a family member that swears by jeans he gets at Sam's Club, cost is under $15 a pair.

My dh is a contractor and he likes the relaxed Arizona jeans from JCP. They last a long time, until of course he wears them on a roof!

I work in a retail store that sells many brands of jeans but I will not give the name of the store. I'd like to keep my job in case anyone should ever see this. Jobs are hard to find these days. They don't make any brand as well as they used to. We see it everyday. You can thank the bad economy, shoplifters, and people who frequently return items that they have been wearing for months up to a year to get new stuff for free. By the way more and more stores are keeping up with returns, when you give your name and address info you are going on a list. They keep up with your returns and if they get to a certain point they can refuse to do anymore returns for you. Unfortunately companies have to make money somehow so the product seems to be what's getting the cut as far as durability and how long clothing lasts. It's the sad truth, I've seen the decline in product everywhere. I do hope that someday it will turn and product durability will be what it used to be.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will have to check out JCP and Old Navy. Come to think of it, the khakis I wear for work are Old Navy and have held up well. :scratchin
