Is it possible to have two separate ADR’s at approximately the same time in two different locations? Currently we have an ADR for Coral Reef, but are unsure if we would want to keep that one or dine at the restaurant in Mexico.

Is this possible? How would you recommend doing it? Any recommendations between Coral Reef and the Mexican restaurant?

We actually have 2 right now for the same time! It happened by accident. My mother called and made an ADR for Cape May Cafe, and I had called and made an ADR for the same night/time for 'Ohana! We plan on cancelling one of them today...but apparently the system will let it happen!

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but here goes.

You can use your cell phone to book one of the ADRs. Just be sure to cancel as soon as you know which one you won't need.

I personally do not think it is right to carry 2 ADR's for the same time/day. If you are going to make a decision to cancel one soon and were just holding till you made a decision then I feel that is okay but if your going to wait till the night you are there to decide, then no I think that is wrong. I don't think it is fair to other people who are trying to get ADR's.

I have heard that Disney can cancel your ADR's if you are double booking. Not sure if this is a rumor or what.

Just wanted to add that while I totally understand not being sure which restaurant you want at present, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE remember to cancel whichever one you decide not to use in a timely manner so that someone else may book it.

Hope you enjoy whichever you choose!

I'm prepared for flaming...I have multiple ADRs around the same time. I just put one in my name and one in my mom's name (they ask for a phone number, so make sure you give two different phone numbers too). But I ABSOLUTELY will cancel the ones we decide not to use! I have all the ADR #s in my notebook and I promise I will cancel!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I have two dinner reservations at the same time for our September trip. It's all under the same name and phone number. Do they usually not let you do that?

We originally made our ADRs at the 180 day mark. Currently my son is being tested for celiac disease. I had originally picked restaurants without considering gluten-free choices. Once the doc ordered the tests, I added some ADR's at places appearing more celiac friendly. Once we get results of the test, we will cancel some ADRs. I didn't want to wait for the test results to make the ADRs since it sounds like September is filling quickly thanks to free dining.

Hi ... I have several ADRs booked under the same name and phone number ... so I know you can do it BUT the reason we are doing it is because part of our family is eating at a different restaurant/park. So its not really a double booking. I always cancel way ahead of time too, if we not doing that so others can have a chance to get to the restaurant. I think its only fair. :thumbsup2

Please cancel any duplicate ADRs at least 2 days in advance. It's getting harder and harder to get into restaurants. More and more people are being turned away because the restaurant is booked solid with ADRs. All of this makes for unhappy guests.

Meanwhile there are a SIGNIFICANT number of no-shows. Our server at GF Cafe was explaining how they're consistently booked solid but have about a 35% no-show rate. Now we have unhappy guests and servers. Bad combo meal, if you ask me.

It's not fair to other guests and the servers to have double bookings and not cancel in a timely manner. Until Disney fixes the problem, we need to be extra considerate.

Most of us have had young kids on these trips to WDW and have had to be flexible around dining as well as playing because of kid's often unpredictable vacation moods and meltdowns. And while I do understand that it's a whirlwind in the mind to try to make all those ADR's waaay in advance, and that most of us like to plan our park days around these ADR's - and FDP makes this all the more difficult..... -

I believe it is absolutely wrong to make duplicate ADR's for two TS restaurants at the same time on the same day because you "can't decide". When someone else calls Disney Dining with their mind ALL made up on THEIR ADR's - they are closed out!!!

This is grossly unfair to thousands of people, and truly, to me, the very worst exploitation of the system. Many say they will "cancel" the second ressie as soon as they "know" for "sure", but when might that be???? The week before your trip?? A month? That very day?? Meanwhile, family B cannot dine where and when they want to because you have made an extra ressie for the luxury of not making a decision. A commitment. A choice...

I, for one, wish Disney would ask for CC payment for 50% at the time of the ressie. It's a minor inconvenience to the customer but it just may prohibit guests from being rude and irresponsible when it comes to dining.

Of course, I know there are very few DIS'er's here who would ever do this..

Oooo... fight! fight! fight! :lmao:

I just wish Disney would make up its mind about that and tell us how they want it to be. For many things, Disney prefers to offer flexibility rather than integrity. (Think about how folks use dining plan credits purchased at the child rate for adult meals.) We see lots of people complaining when that flexibility works out to their disadvantage but not when that flexibility works out to their advantage. I don't think we can have it both ways. Either we want Disney to be flexible or we want them to keep things honest.

Nicely put melomouse! :) I agree 100%.

Oh and I don't think it is right to use child credits for adult meals either!

I agree with Melomouse, it isn't right to have two ADRs for the same time because you can't make up your mind. Pick one, make the ADR, then you have it, and if you change your mind, change your ADR.

I read somewhere (either here or another board) that someone had duplicate ADRs for the same day and all of them were cancelled, but I'm not sure now where that was. It was a week or two ago.

I have a solution. Now I do understand that this would be something that Disney probably would be unlikely to implement. People would get really mad, but it would solve a large number of no-shows. If a person no-shows on an ADR without cancelling at least one hour in advance, Disney can then cancel all remaining ADRs. I know this wouldn't help those trying to make reservations from home, but it would help walk-ups. I know that I would make sure that I cancelled if I couldn't make it if I knew that they would cancel the rest of my reservations. After all, if you no-show on one reservations, why can't Disney assume that you will no-show on all of them. You can call reservations from many places at the parks and resorts, so it really isn't an inconvience to cancel. Just an idea.

As soon as Disney figures out that the number of no shows is negatively impacting their revenue streams, they will either start "overbooking" or requiring a credit card hold/deposit. Anyone care to venture a guess on when that will be? :)

Best wishes -

I would be happy to give a credit card to hold an ADR. I think it's terribly unfair of people to book multiple dinners so they can "decide" that day where to eat. Other people who wanted to dine at that restaurant lose out as do the servers and the restaurant. It's unfair all around. Those people should be charded a no-show fee, just like at the Norway Princess Breakfast.

We had double reservations once....one for my parents and kids at Chef Mickey's and one for my dh and I at the California Grill. It was the first time I was leaving my youngest with anyone other than her dad so we wanted to be in the same vicinity. But this was genuine double reservations...both were going to be used by different members of our party.

I was not given any problem about the two reservations and even put the Chef Mickey's reservation in my stepdad's name. When my parents and kids arrived at Chef Mickey's though...their reservation wasn't in the system. They called me (dh and I had already been seated at the California Grill...they had just reached the front of the check in line at Chef Mickey's) and I gave them the reservation #, which the cm's discovered had been cancelled (by whom, when or how I don't know). Luckily the cm's at Chef Mickey's were very accomodating and apologetic and they placed them in the seating queue just as if their reservation hadn't been cancelled. They were finished their meal a while before we fininshed ours (ah, that was a nice meal....wine, sushi, fireworks...)

I also have no problem with implementing a no-show fee. But my guess is that Disney is more likely to overbook than set up a hold system on all reservations. Admittedly, I kind of liked when making advanced reservations was an on-site perk. But maybe the restaurants weren't getting enough business that way? I would think it would have made walk-ins much easier.

Ditto! If Disney wants pick up on Carol's suggestion tomorrow, that's fine with me!!!
