i have decided to do the plated duo plate menu
i was woundering if you have done this wat teo meat choices did you decide on?? and what sides??

if you did a plated what did you chooce? this was the hardest part of the menu choosing??

did anyone choose soup as their appetizer??

We chose to do a custom plated dinner menu with a duo plate for our wedding in June and we did pick soup as our appetizer. I just received our BEO on Friday and it has our menu listed as this:

Caesar Salad with Parmesan and Croutons
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup with Pretzel Bread
Raspberry-Champagne Sorbet in a Cinderella's Slipper Ice Sculpture (Blue glow)
-DUO PLATE-
Filet Mignon with Red Wine Sauce
and
Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast with Boursin Cheese Sauce (the best thing I have ever tasted!)
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans and Carrots
Assorted Rolls and Butter

*The chef suggested this order because the courses would come out in a cold, hot, cold, hot pattern.

Hope that helps some :thumbsup2

wow that menu sounds amazing, would you mind telling me how much that costs??

Nope, I don't mind at all! I actually should post our BEO on the price thread that was started not too long ago. That entire menu (including the Cinderella glass slipper sorbet) is $95.00/person.

We are also having the Daisy Plated Children's Menu which is $19.95/person and includes:
Mickey-Roni and Cheese
Salad
Chicken Tenders
French Fries
Buttered Corn
Applesauce
Dessert - decorate your own Mickey cake with icing, M&M's and Mickey confetti

wow, i thought it was going to be alot more, especially with the slipper! thanks for the information!!

Originally I thought it was going to be $95/person and the additional $19.99/person for the slippers. I was worried until I finally received the BEO. I was so relieved although somehow our overall total still went $2000 over our budget. I'm trying hard not to have to cut out the slippers :goodvibes.

That sounds amazing!!!! Bousin is the best thing ever created! I am assuming that your dessert would be the dessert party. Your menu sounds fantastic! I wish you the best of luck and I just LOVE your sig pictures!

We're doing duo plates
Goat Cheese Ravioli
Ceaser Salad
Lemon Champagne Sorbet in Cindy's Slipper

Then the choice of
Filet in Merlot Butter Sauce with Lobster in Buerre Blanc Sauce with White Cheddar Mashed Potato and Seasonal Veggies
OR
Roasted French Chicken in Berry Reduction along with Jumbo Shrimp Stuffed with Crab in Buerre Blanc sauce with White Cheddar Mashed w/ Seasonal Veggies
and they end up being about a $100pp

Is the price for the slipper alone $19.99? So that amount would have to be added to the cost of your menu.

Thanks,
Linda

about how much does it cost to do a bar and hour derves? (spelling)

There are tons of different packages. I can try to find my information packet later and post them for you if no one else comes along with it.

Correct. When we were at our menu tasting my sister asked how much the Cinderella slipper was separately and we were told $19.99/each (I believe that was the price, maybe $19.95). They have it listed within our menu on the BEO and the price is just added into the entire meal total of $95/person without stating the individual cost.

The ice slipper does look impressive. I might try to work it into my budget. Even though I am not doing a Cinderella theme wedding - just being at WDW you need something Cinderellae to add.

I am confused on the duo plate thing. I noticed that some of the menues on the disney site say Seared Beef with Lobster Tail (or something similar). Now are you guys having it where your guests choose one of the two entrees, or are both entrees given to the guest. I would like to have them choose between different menus, but that seems like a lot of money that will be wasted. If they get both entrees, are they smaller portions? If not, that would seem like too much? Can you clarify this? Thanks

For the duo plate, they would get both entrees, ie filet with lobster but you can also offer more than one plate if you want (ie filet with lobster OR chicken with shrimp, etc) But the guests have to choose ahead of time what they want. If you want to have them choose that day, at the dinner, that would be considered "crown service" and would be more expensive. Or you can do what some people do and get filet and chicken on the same plate and then everybody gets the same thing and they don't have to choose anything

I agree with StitchBride :goodvibes. Our guests are all just getting the filet and chicken. I have pictures of each plate posted in my planning journal but you are right that if you get them as the duo plate the portions are smaller. I believe the filet that is served is a 4 oz. instead of 6 oz.
